The baptism in the Spirit, Tongues and the Gifts of Spirit:

This is a glorious powerful subject. As always, the devil tries to mess up things that are a threat to him and a tool for the supernatural success of the believer. The dead, denominational churches and others that reject the gifts and the baptism of the Spirit, have done very well in helping the devil defeat, divide and weaken the church! There are over 30,000 non-spirit filled Christian denominations today! What condemnation!

If you reject the baptism in the Spirit, tongues and the gifts (which are all inextricably linked), by default, you operate in the flesh, using only your limited intellect and human reasoning backed by a few verses here and there.

In fact, the baptism in the Spirit is one of the foundational legs of the tripod of your salvation. Without it, that would be like a tripod with two legs! The tripod is: New birth, adult baptism in water by full immersion and the baptism in the Spirit, with the evidence of tongues.

If you reject the baptism and gifts of the Spirit, you are disqualified from any form of ministry, simply because you will be operating in the energy of the flesh, and intillect and you will be without the needed revelatory gifts, and in fact all the others.

You will never have the true spark and fire of the leading of the Spirit, although you may think you do. You will always be behind the curve and have a natural propensity to get things wrong. You will be powerless and especially powerless to overcome the world.

You will be characterised by spiritual blindness, which is a huge, huge tragedy in this day!

Yes there are excesses in this, with certain people that belong on a circus stage, but you can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, because some people abuse the gifts.

The following are a few very informative videos on the subject.

I have dealt with the gifts, tongues and the claims of those who believe the gifts have ceased in numerous editions. Here is one:

Here are some key verses on the subject:

Baptism in the Spirit:

Hebrews 6:1-2 Speaks of and lists the “doctrine of Messiah.” The doctrine of baptisms” is one of them. The word is plural!

John 14:16-17 “I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper and He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive.”

Acts 2:4 “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:18 “I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophecy.”

Acts 10:44-48“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word, and those of the circumcision who believed, were astonished because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Can anyone forbid water that these should not be baptised who have just received the Holy Spirit just as we have?’ And He commanded them to be baptised.”

Acts 19:2 “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed”? And they said, ‘we have not so much heard whether there is a Holy Spirit...When they heard this, they were baptised.’”

Acts 19:5-6 “When they heard this they were baptised in the name of Yeshua, and when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.”

Revelation 11:3 “I will give power to My two witnesses and they will prophecy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

1 Corinthians 1:7 “Pray that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revealing of our Lord Yeshua Messiah.”

John 7:38 “He who believes in Me, as the scriptures has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

John 14:15-16 “If you love Me keep My commandments and I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper , that He might abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him not knows Him.”

1 Corinthians 12:27-31 “Now you are the body of Messiah and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues...but earnestly desire the best gifts.”

1 Corinthians 14:2-5 “He who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him, however in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. But, he who prophecies speaks edification, exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied...”

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 “The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: To one is given the word of wisdom, through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills.”

Shalom

Edenic Covenant. (Genesis 1:26-30 2:16-17.)

Noah Covenant . (Genesis 9 and 2 Peter 2:5.)

Abrahamic Covenant. (Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 13:6).

Mosaic Covenant. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28).

Davidic Covenant. (2 Samuel 7:8-16.)

New Covenant. (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Matthew 5:17.)

Some of the above covenants are mentioned in numerous other passages as well.

Below, and for your benefit, I’ve written out many of these covenants and promises. These all relate specifically to Israel, the land, the Jews, Jerusalem, and the Arab / Palestinians and their lands.

In these times it is absolutely vital to know these eternal promises and covenants, because they are all the subject of great end-time attacks by the world and much of the church – tragically.

Who needs to know these covenants?

Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings, Queens and all in authority, as well as you and me, the man in the street, the janitor, and the riff raff...all need to know these things.

These are the major issues of the world, soon to be fought in WW111, and the greatest drama of all time, coming to a head right before our eyes. These specific issues will lead many to victory with our Lord and many to hell. You don’t believe me – wait and see!

These are the issues that will melt the hearts of many believers in love for our Lord, and turn many others into deadly, poisonous, hate-filled vipers

God’s amazing covenant promises:

Jews Arabs

Psalm 105:8-10 “He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded for a thousand generations, and the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant, saying I will give you the land of Israel

Deuteronomy 1:8 “See I have set the land before you; go in and possess (Lit=occupy) the land which the Lord swore to your fathers – to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendents after them.”

Genesis 17:7-8 “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”

Genesis 17:18-21 “Abraham said to God, ‘O that Ishmael (modern Arabs / Palestinians) might live before You!’ Then God: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his descendants after him.”

Deuteronomy 4:40 “You shall keep His statutes and commandments that it may go well with you and with your children after you and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”

1 Kings 10:9 “Blessed be the Lord your God, who delighted in you (Jews), setting you on the throne of Israel, because the Lord has loved Israel forever.”

Psalm 135:4 “For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.”

Deuteronomy 14:2 “You are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all peoples on the face of the earth.”

Romans 11:29 “The gifts and calling of God (the context is the Jews) are irrevocable.”

Joel 3:18-20 “It shall come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water...Egypt shall be a desolation and Edom a desolate wilderness because of violence (Hamas) against the people of Judah, for they have shed innocent blood in their land. But Judah shall abide forever and Jerusalem from generation to generation.”

Daniel 7:18-22 “But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.”

Deuteronomy 30:3-5 “When you return the Lord your God and obey His voice with all your heart and soul, then the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord will gather you and bring you back. Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.”

Isaiah 49:22-23 “Thus says the Lord God: Behold I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations (Gentiles), and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.”

2 Samuel 7:23-24 “Who is like Your people, like Israel, the one nation on the earth who God went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make for Himself a name and to do for you great and awesome things for your land, before Your people whom You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt and the nations and their gods.”

Zechariah 10:9 “I will sow them among the peoples (nations), and they shall remember Me in the far countries. They shall live together with their children, and they shall return.”

Amos 9:15 “I will plant them (Jews) in their land, and they shall no longer be pulled up from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God.”

Jeremiah 31:31-33 “Behold the days are coming says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel...I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God and they will be My people.”

Ezekiel 36:23-27 “I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you (Jews) have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. The I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean...I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes.”

Jerusalem(All of it)

2 Chronicles 6:6 “I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.”

Zechariah 1:17 "My cities shall again spread out in prosperity; the Lord will again choose Jerusalem."

Zechariah 3:2 “The Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you.”

Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. It shall happen in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; and all who would heave it away (Lit=divide it) will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”

Psalm 132: 13 “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation.”

Covenants for and against the Arab / Palestinians:

Genesis 17:19-21 “God said: No Sarah, your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you, behold I have blessed him and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes and I shall make him a great nation. BUT My covenant, I will establish with Isaac, who Sarah shall bear to you at the set time, next year.”

(Today there are 175 million Arabs in 21 Arab nations all surrounding Israel, showing God’s faithful promise to Ishmael / Esau / Arabs, as revealed in the verses above.)

Nehemiah 2:19-20 (Nehemiah comes to Jerusalem and views the wall) “But when Sanballat the horronite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard of it they laughed us to scorn and despised us saying, ‘What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?’ So I answered them and said to them, ‘The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no heritage or memorial in Jerusalem.”

Numbers 33:50-55 Instructions for the conquest of Canaan: “Moses, speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their moulded images and demolish all their high places...but if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those who let remain, shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.

Obadiah 1:10 “For violence (Lit-Chamac, Hamas in English) against your brother Jacob (Israel) shame shall cover you (Esau / Arab / Palestinians) and you shall be cut off forever.”

Joel 3:2 “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat; I will enter into judgement with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”

Israel’s tragic covenant with death and hell:

Isaiah 28:15 “Because you (Israel), have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol (hell) we are in agreement, when the overflowing scourge passes through it will not come near us, for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.’”

Does this verse above relate to the coming tragic, peace covenant with the antichrist and many nations, which begins the tribulation period? It most certainly could. But have a look at how it ends:

Isaiah 28:18-22 “Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with hell will not stand; when the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it...I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a destruction (Lit=complete end) even upon the whole earth.”

So, here we see Israel making a covenant or peace deal of some sorts in contravention to God’s own covenant promises. It brings destruction upon the whole world (tribulation period), BUT the covenant is annulled or broken, which finally ends up in God’s covenant promises to Israel, in salvation coming to pass. – What incredible drama!

Here are some more verses on Israel’s tragic, coming covenant with the descendants of the Arab / Palestinians:

Exodus 34:11-14 “Observe what I command you this day. Behold I am driving out from before you the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite  and the Jebusite. Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be a snare in your midst. You shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars and cut down their wooden images, for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous is a jealous God.”

Isaiah 24: 4-6 “The earth mourns and fades away; the world languishes and fades away. The haughty people of the earth languish. The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinances, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate...”

Daniel 9:27 “Then he (antichrist) shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wings of the abomination shall be one who makes desolate...”

Why Arabs (Muslims) are the way they are:

Genesis 27:40-41 “By your sword (Esau/ Arabs) you shall live, and you shall serve your brother, and it shall come to pass when you become restless, that you shall break his yolk from your neck. So Esau hated Jacob (Israel)”

Obadiah 1:10 “For violence (Lit-Chamac, Hamas in English) against your brother Jacob (Israel) shame shall cover you and you shall be cut off forever.”

Genesis 16:12 “He (Ishmael/Arabs) shall be a wild man; his hand shall be against every man, and everyman’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of his brethren.”

Genesis 21:9-13 “Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, scoffing. Therefore she said to Abraham, ‘Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman (Ishmael) shall not be heir with my son, Isaac.’ And the matter was displeasing to Abraham. But God said to Abraham, ‘Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or the bondwoman. Whatever Sarah says to you listen to her voice, for in Isaac, your seed shall be called.

Genesis 25:23 “Two nations (Esau/Arabs and Jacob/ Jews) are in your womb, two people shall be separated from your body; one shall be stronger than the other, and the older shall serve the younger.”

Genesis 25:30-34 “Esau said to Jacob, ‘please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his was called Edom (meaning red). But Jacob said, ‘Sell me your birthright today’...so he sold him his birthright...Thus Esau hated (rejected) his birthright.’”

Malachi 1:4-5 “Edom (Esau/Arabs) has said, we have been impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places.’ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘They may build, but I will throw down; they shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, and the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever. And your eyes shall see, and you shall say, ‘The Lord is magnified beyond the border of Israel.’

There are very many more similar verses throughout the Bible. There is an amazing constancy among them all. You are gambling with eternity if you reject this!

Shalom – be blessed!

Under the law or not:

There is a huge difference between obeying God through external laws in stone and the law of the Spirit of God in our hearts, and never the twain shall meet!

Old Covenant Pentecost was the birthday of Israel, characterised by the law given in stone. At New Covenant Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out in fullness (not before) and the birthday of the Church occurred with the law now written in our hearts.

The outpouring of the Spirit only occurred at New Covenant Pentecost. Those who try to bring believers under the law, and rigid obedience to it are of the flesh and not the Spirit.

The exchange of life for new Godly life is only revealed in the New Covenant epistles. If our Lord IS your life there is no need for external laws.

Of course the law has a purpose. It is to show that no one can keep it, and to identify what sin and holiness is. The law, which is a shadow, points away from itself to the real object – our Messiah and His Spirit. The law is the shadow of the real thing. Do not go dancing with shadows.

Coming under the law again, is what the Judaisers did, and what modern Judaisers try to do. They enforce a legalistic approach to the law, always with judgementalism. You will know them by their fruits! They can’t deal with the writings of Paul about grace and liberty, so they reject him and the New Testament epistles. People under the law always have a deadness about them.

Because they reject what happened at Pentecost, (The law was changed from external , written in stone to written on our hearts) they must keep all of the law. They are all raving hypocrites because no one can keep the law. They are all law breakers. As they reject Pentecost in its fullness they also reject the baptism of the Spirit and are full of deadness.

Bear in mind that we are to be “established in the present truth” (2 Peter 1:12) which is the New Covenant epistles. Of the course the law has its place, but we must not come under the bondage of law keeping in a legalistic manner.

I consider myself to be a Messianic believer, but more and more I am distancing myself from their legalism and bondage. I would much rather classify myself as a follower of the early Church, identified from Pentecost until the advent of Constantine.

For your benefit I’ve presented you with verses of scripture showing what the purpose of the law was and is.

To come under the law, means to nullify or downplay the work of grace and the cross, which is the only way to full and complete justification. Coming under law and works brings a curse. (Galatians 3:10)

2 Peter 1:12 “I will not be negligent to remind you of these things though you know them and are established in the present truth.”

Galatians 2:19 “For I, through the law, died to the law that I may live to God.”

Galatians 3:10-13 “As many as are under the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them...The law is not of faith but the man who does them shall live by them. Messiah has redeemed us from the curse of the law...”

Galatians 4:21 “You who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? For Abraham had two sons; the one by a bond woman and the other by a free woman. He of the bond woman was born according to the flesh and the free, according to the promise, which things are symbolic...”

Hebrews 7:12 “The priesthood being changed there is of necessity a change in the law”.

Hebrews 8:13 “He made a new covenant which made the first obsolete, now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.”

Hebrews 9:9-10 “It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience – concerned only with foods and drinks...until the time of the reformation.”

Hebrews 10:1 “For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer year after year make them perfect.”

Romans 3:20-21 “By the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. The righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed...even the righteousness of God.”

Romans 7:7-10 “Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law...and the commandment which was to bring life, I found to bring death.”

Romans 14:1-2 Receive one who is weak in faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Let him who eats depise not him who doesn’t.”

1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”

Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no one judge you in food or drink or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is Messiah.”

Acts 11:26 “So it was for the whole year that they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.”

Hebrews 8:6 “...He is now a mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.”

Hebrews 8:10 “This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God and they will be My people.”

Acts 10:10-16 Peter commanded to eat anything.

Acts 13:38-39 “Let it be known that, through this Man is preached the forgiveness of sins and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

Acts 15:4-5 “When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they reported what God had done. But there were some of the sect of the Pharisees, who believed rose up saying, it is necessary to be circumcised and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”

Acts 15:10 “Now therefore why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear.”

Paganism in the church:

The following is a simple collection of verses relating to paganism and the occult in the church. These relate to the Babylonian practises of Christmas, Easter, infant sprinkling and a host of others.

Simply type in “origins of Christmas” or “Easter” and you will be horrified!

Those in the church who celebrate Christmas, Easter and the like are deceived Jew haters. They would not say that, but then they don’t know how hated Babylon is to most Jews. The church ministers and congregations that practice these evil world-loving festivals are no different from the world and testify to and glorify Baal, Nimrod, Ishtar and a host of other gods.

Most people have no idea that the Catholic church introduced all these occult practices into the church to keep the Jews out, and re-characterise the church.

“Oh we worship the real Jesus, but we just use these names”, say the golden-calf Christians. So how do they deal with Exodus 23:13? They have no answer. They must cut that out of their Bible!

Satan-rooted traditions are all over the church and its traditions.

The true minister of the Gospel and true prophet will lead you into all truth, while the false will always lead you to other gods who are accepted and worshipped by the world.

The true Church is called to “make the Jew jealous” not chase them away! There is a very important reason why the salvation of the Jew is of vital importance and its related to the Second Coming.

Jeremiah 10:2 “Do not learn the way of the pagans.” (This goes on to condemn the cutting down of the fir tree and decorating it with gold and silver!)

Exodus 23:13 “Be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.” Those who say we call it Easter but worship the true God have a major problem with this verse. (Easter is the name of the Babylonian goddess of sex identified with rabbits, eggs, ham etc.)

Zephaniah 1:4 “...Against the inhabitants of Jerusalem, I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, the names of the idolatrous priests, with the pagan priests.”

Deuteronomy 12:30-31 “Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed before you, and that you do not enquire after their gods, saying ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way...”

This amazing discourse ends in verse 41 “So these nations feared the Lord, yet served their carved images; also their children and their children’s children have continued doing as their fathers did even to this day.”

Isaiah 43:12 “There was no foreign god among you; therefore you are My witnesses says the Lord.”

2 Kings 17:32-34 “...Priests of the high places sacrificed in the shrines of the high places. They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods according to the rituals of the nations...to this day they continue practicing their former rituals; they do not fear the Lord...”

Exodus 23:1-2“You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. You shall not follow the crowd to do evil...”

Romans1:18 “The wrath of God is revealed against all unrighteousness...They are without excuse.”

Walk circumspectly. Don’t sell yourself and be reasoned into wrong by the council of the ungodly idolaters in the pulpit. Be radical on the right side. Be holy. Stand as a testimony in this evil hour.
