Shabbat Shalom to all!
But first: The American vote: A vote for the Democrats is a vote to rebuild Babylon (which God destroyed) and a vote for the Republicans is a vote for a reprieve for the world, and for many kingdom of God principles.
Walking right in a crooked world:
Romans 12:3 “I say to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one the (a) measure of faith.”
The original word used for a ‘measure’ of faith is “Metron,” meaning a determined, measured -off extent.
This applies particularly well to teachers, watchmen and the like. They get given a “spear” and sceptre of authority and influence, which is limited.
But God can change the limit or measure depending on the obedience of the subject.
Many in ministry have no “metron” of God at all but only presumption. There ‘metron’ is manipulative, deceptive, which has no authority or ‘spear’ behind it at all.
As a teacher, you can become the “deceiver of the brethren” and nothing but a control freak if you’re not within your limit of authority.
Many in ministry have had a spiritual gift imparted to them through the laying on of hands. That is perfectly biblical, but as with all things true, be careful, there is a counterfeit too. Laying on of hands can transfer the spirit of the imparter.
The laying on of hands by a false teacher also lays on you false words of false authority. I once heard a prophetic anointing being given to a minister by another false minister, who said at the time of laying on of hands that the recipient would have massive influence and authority around the world. Shortly afterwards he was dead!
Don’t let anyone “lay hands on you suddenly”, which means too quickly without full discernment. It is your job to see to that.
You can receive a false anointing, or mantle of demons from the laying on of hands by a false teacher.
Following a false leader will lead you astray eventually. You must test the spirits. When you come into agreement with a false teacher you have opened a door that you will find very hard to close.
As the world has left the word and is experiencing the dramatic consequences, so the same is true for a section of the church, which has left the word. It has left the literal interpretation and Spirit-led application of the word – disaster has come to those churches.
Those churches then operate in a false ‘anointing’, with no ‘metron’ at all.
Don’t underestimate the power of going off into error. It can wreck you. You will not live right on wrong doctrine. It’s progression will destroy you spiritually.
The only unified, universal message of the unsaved is that sin is okay and the Bible is not.
When you affirm that some sin like homosexuality is a basic human right and then go honestly to the Bible, you will notice that never the twain shall meet! (And I’m not talking of the Moody Blues!) You have to throw out one or the other.
Have you noticed that we are seeing so much fake news today? These things are all spiritually charged and on course – the wrong course.
Trust in the media is declining fast. The world’s mega media empires have been uniting and merging. This has seen a dramatic escalation in unified misinformation and fake news. But most people eventually see the hidden agenda behind the mass media and reject it.
The mass media have shot themselves in the foot. You can’t hoodwink people forever, except the uneducated, fools and the possessed.
Tragically, the same is happening in many churches who have a message that just doesn’t fly anymore, and disillusioned people just give up.
The image below is your key to a successful Christian life, even in these times. It is the light of life (to the Jew and Gentile) represented in the menorah, the truth of God’s word (all of it), and the application of the cross.
►Here is a most important sign to stay safe in these dangerous days of deception: Who else shares and agrees with what you have been taught. There is always a group of mature, deeply spiritual, highly informed Spirit-led pastors, leaders, and teachers out there. They are your spiritual measuring rod. They are your safety net.
In these days of much resistance, perhaps the greatest opportunities to grow your faith in our Lord, loom large!
You can change your future now. When you get there, it’s a done deal, over and out - no going back! There will be tears of regret, gnashing of teeth or wonderful relief in eternal victory. You will be met with: “Well done good and faithful servant, or the terror of “depart from Me, I never knew you!”
“The fire will test each one work of what sort it is.” (1 Corinthians 3:13)
The battle is for your mind. Your mind is the great aggregator, sifter and decider of what you think say and do. But inside your mind is your own “holy of holies” That is your choice-centre. If the devil can get in there he will defeat you.
You must fill your heart and mind with the word.
Your mind is the doorway to your spirit – the ultimate target and goal of the devil.
What often angers me no end, is the presumption by the shallow prophets that they are hearing God for you. You must listen to them, as though they, in all their error and failed predictions, hear God speaking to them. They think that others don’t have ears to hear God. In reality God is speaking to some of them and telling them to get out of ministry.
It’s a very serious thing to lead someone astray.
Be careful when you say you speak for God! Of course there is nothing at all wrong with saying that you believe, God is saying this or that, or that you feel impressed by Him about this or that.
So much of “the Lord told me to tell you,” and “I had a dream” is pure garbage.
If you put all the rapture dreams everyone and his auntie is having these days into a big aggregator machine, the machine would explode, because they’re all so different, with different time lines, accompanied with “the Lord told me, its 100% true.” The machine would spit smoke and say, “sorry, no comprehendo”. So you take out the instruction manual and it says: “This machine does not work and will self destruct if fed lies.”
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams and he gives you a sign and a wonder ...and it is in error, you shall not listen to his words.”
Jeremiah 23:25-32 “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophecy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’...Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart...I am against the prophets who steal My words from his neighbour. I am against the prophets who use their tongue and say, ‘The Lord says.’ I am against those who prophesy false dreams, and tell them and cause My people to err...I did not send them...”
Don’t throw the baby out with the whiskey. There are occasions – few of them, where dreams may have some relevance.
The jury is still out on Pastor Dana Coverstone’s dreams as their fulfilment still lies ahead. He most certainly does not come across as one looking for self-affirmation though.
Edition 499: December 10th 2019
Refuting an “imminent” rapture:
These are words of life!
The word “imminence” means: “It is impending and due to happen”. The word as used in the context of the rapture has come to mean: “It’s due at any time with no preceding signs”. An imminent rapture is the majority opinion amongst Bible teachers. I do not support this view.
This is not an issue for division, but there are important consequences.
I most certainly do believe that the rapture is imminent using the definition of, “Its coming soon.” The usage of “imminent,” meaning, you cannot know when, is what I am refuting.
In this edition, I will share with you some amazing truths.
My view on this is nothing new and has been the minority consensus right through the church age. I began teaching on this subject in the early 80’s, and nothing has changed except that some more things have come to light and been added as the time approaches.
The judgements of God:
There are a number of great judgements revealed in the Bible, which you would be wise to consider.
- The events of the cross are in fact a judgement upon, and removal of sin.
- The rapture of the true church places us at the “Judgement Seat (Bema) of Messiah. This is a judgement exclusively for rewards. (The believer’s sin has been removed.)
- The tribulation period as a whole is a judgement upon the sin of the world and Israel.
- The sheep and goat judgement of the nations occurs right at the very end of the tribulation period, after Armageddon.
- The Great White Throne judgement of all unbelievers occurs at the end of the Millennium. (Revelation 20:12)
- We are told in the Bible that if we judge ourselves now (in line with scripture), we will not be judged with the world. (1 Corinthians 11:31)
Can we know when the rapture will take place?
We may not know right down to the final day and hour. But even that prophecy has a wonderful twist to it as you will see further down.
I believe that as the day approaches we will get more light on the subject. Yes we can know down to a very short period of time. Read on my friends, and my sceptical friends.
It’s not in God’s character to catch us out. It is the unbeliever who will be caught out!
There will be many signs, but there is one great big sign, which is the subject of this edition.
The Rapture and Rosh Hashanah (The Feast of Trumpets):
The seven feast of the Lord in their biblical order, paint a dramatic picture of the course of God’s redemptive plan and actions with Israel, the church and Israel again in the tribulation period. Each of the feasts points to a major prophetic milestone event.
The first four feasts have already been fulfilled in the events of the cross and the formation of the church. These are: ●Passover (the cross) ●Unleavened bread (Holiness), ●Firstfruits (Resurrection), ●Pentecost (Church age begins). The unfulfilled feasts are: ●Rosh Hashanah (Rapture, start of tribulation), ●Atonement (Wrath of God), ●Tabernacles (Second Coming / Millennium)
Just as surely as the church age began at Pentecost with the indwelling Holy Spirit in the hearts of believers, it will end with the church, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, being removed. It is absolutely inconceivable, and impossible, that these things will not happen.
It is impossible that the final three feasts will not be fulfilled in the same literal manner as the first four were. If this is the case, the next feast to be fulfilled is Rosh Hashanah / Trumpets.
Amazing prophetic details of Rosh Hashanah:
Rosh Hashanah is followed by Yom Kippur (Days of Awe) and the Feasts of Tabernacles.
Yom Kippur will be fulfilled in the tribulation period by the wrath of God.
Rosh Hashanah announces a ten-day period of Awe culminating in Yom Kippur itself. In other words, prophetically, it announces the tribulation period.
Rosh Hashanah is also known as the day of judgement and the day of repentance. (Relating to Israel)
Rosh Hashanah is also called the Feast of Trumpets, because 100 trumpet blasts are sounded culminating in one long blast known as the “last trump.”
One of the meanings of the trumpet blasts is, “The awakening trumpet blast.”
On Rosh Hashanah the righteous are confirmed to be written in the book of life. Others are given 10 days, until Yom Kippur (Day of Awe) to repent. That is a perfect type of people getting saved after the rapture in the tribulation period. (Tribulation saints)
It is most important that we take special and urgent note of what Rosh Hashanah symbolises. It symbolises the beginning of judgement on Israel. It symbolises the time leading to the “wrath of God.” It symbolises the repentance of Israel, which we know from numerous other scriptures begins and runs through the tribulation period.
So, Rosh Hashanah speaks prophetically of the major dispensation change ending the church age, and the new beginning of the season of repentance and judgement upon Israel.
Rosh Hashanah speaks to Israel and the church because it signals this dispensation change.
There are many other exciting things about this feast, like the coronation of the King and others, but the real big thing is that it symbolises the start of the tribulation period also called the time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) trouble and Daniel’s seventieth week.
Again, I must remark: This is the next feast in line to be fulfilled and if not fulfilled by these things, what else would it be?
Plain, simple logic dictates that if this feast symbolises the tribulation start, then it must also symbolise the pre-tribulation rapture of the church as the church dispensation ends.
So, do we have any signs for the rapture? Yes of course we do. It is Rosh Hashanah.
That means we are very close to this happening, what a wonderful comfort!
Psalm 47:5 “God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.”
Which Rosh Hashanah?
The answer is – I don’t know for absolute sure.
I suspect that it will be this next one coming along on September 19th next year. We will know by the many other signs that will have to be in place right then.
The entire jigsaw puzzle needs to be complete and in place.
Looking at the speed at which all the ducks are lining up, it looks very much like it will be the next one. We will see these things approaching.
There are indicators as to which one it will be, revealed in the patterns of the jubilee’s, but more on that another time.
The “anytime” rapture:
The view that the rapture could happen at any time without warning, obviously means that the tribulation period is also going to begin in the same manner.
Some erroneously teach that there will be a period of time, as much as ten years or so, between the rapture and the tribulation start. There is no scriptural basis for that, besides that, there can never be an inter-dispensation time period. One begins as the previous on closes.
The removal of the restrainer releases the antichrist immediately. (2 Thessalonians 2:6-8) These two events begin the tribulation period immediately. There is no long time gap.
The most common reason given for a rapture at any time is the verse, “Of that day and hour, no one knows...” (Matthew 24:36) Firstly, that refers to a very specific, short time and most certainly not a longer time period like a month or year.
But let me destroy another widely held view. They say, “no one knows the day or hour.” Wrong! It says “Of that day and hour no one knows”. The word “of” means the surrounding issues and characteristics! “Of” is not a time word, it describes the conditions at the time.
Some say that not even the Lord knows when the rapture will be, but the Father only. They are right because that’s what the verse says. But it is referring to the time period when Yeshua was on this earth in the domain of many evil spirits and in a physical body.
Zechariah 14:7 “It shall be one day which is known to the Lord – neither day nor night, but at evening time it shall happen that it will be light.”
Secondly, the “day and hour” is a play on Rosh Hashanah, which is also known as, “the feast of which no one knows the day or hour”. This is why the feast is held over two days, because it begins when the new moon is sighted, which, in those days could only be determined within two days.
The rapture will take place in a “twinkling of an eye.” This is also a play on Rosh Hashanah which begins at the “twinkling of an eye,” meaning the time period at dusk just as the sun sets when it briefly “twinkles.” This is a long held traditional view in Hebrew circles.
That also identifies the rapture “twinkling” (1 Corinthians 15:52), with Rosh Hashanah.
Some say that if we knew when the rapture would occur, Christians would continue living like the devil until the last moment. That argument is so ridiculous I won’t even address it.
Pre or Post?
The big debate in Christian circles is a pre or post tribulation rapture. Obviously, I’m solidly in the pre trib camp. But let me add that the post trib crowd have some convincing arguments (and some real bad ones). At the end of it all, the pre-tribulation rapture wins the day.
A post tribulation rapture would seriously damage the prophetic importance and implications of Rosh Hashanah as I have explained above. It makes Israel the church and would nullify the messages of Rosh Hashanah.
As we get glimpses into heaven, we see that rewards are given to Christians immediately after the rapture, long before the Second Coming. We see the 24 elders already rewarded in heaven while the tribulation is on the go on earth.
The armies in heaven clothed in white, fine linen (which is the righteous acts of the saints – Revelation 19:8) follow our Lord back to earth at the Second Coming. (Zechariah 14:5)
Revelation 19:14 “And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.”
So, the church returns already rewarded.
At the Second Coming our Lord returns from a wedding (Luke 12:36) He returns with His bride. How can Yeshua return from the wedding feast if the wedding hasn’t taken place yet? The post tribulation rapture leaves no place or time for the marriage feast.
The rapture will occur at the last trumpet blast (1 Corinthians 15:52). Many people mix this up with the last trump of the Revelation at the Second Coming. Paul wrote his letter describing the last trumpet, long before John wrote the Revelation, so how could Paul have been referring to the Revelation trumpet, which John had not even written about yet?
Now let’s have a brief look at some other amazing rapture terms:
►The term “caught up” (1 Thessalonians 4:18) is the rapture.
►The term “gather together unto Him” is the rapture. (2 Thessalonians 2:1)
►The term in which the restrainer is “taken out of the way” (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7) is the rapture.
►The term, “Keep you from” the hour of trial to come upon the whole world (tribulation), means to be kept clean out away from, in time and space. (Revelation 3:10) It is the rapture. The word “from” in the verse above is Strong’s G575 “Apo.” Meanings: A “separation”, or “physical distance from”.
►The term “has come in” relating to the full number of the Gentiles which must come in, before God’s work swings over to saving the Jews, is the rapture. (Romans 11:25)
►The term, “Come up here” (Revelation 4:1) is the rapture of John to heaven to receive the book of Revelation, but it is an important type of the rapture of the church at the end of the church age, revealed in the previous three chapters. After this event the church is not seen on earth throughout the tribulation.
►The term “The great apostasy” (2 Thessalonians 2:3) can also mean a departure, or the rapture itself! The verse ties the apostasy to the revealing of the antichrist and says nothing at all about a falling away from the faith! Apostasy in relation to falling away from the faith has already occurred significantly in the Catholic-created dark ages.
►The rapture of the two witnesses occurs sometime near mid tribulation, if you read all the surrounding verses. (Revelation 11:12) This begs the question: If there is to be a post-tribulation rapture, why are these two raptured long before the Second Coming?
Looking watching and praying:
Even though we can be pretty sure that the rapture / tribulation start will occur on a Feast of Trumpets, we still need to watch and pray, look for and analyse all the signs, and discern the voice of the Lord in it all.
Titus 2:13 “Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah.”
Hebrews 9:28 “To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin for salvation.”
1 Corinthians 1:7 “See to it that you came short in no gift, eagerly awaiting the revelation of our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah.” (Note that the gifts continue till the rapture.)
Philippians 3:20 “Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for our Saviour.”
1 Thessalonians 1:10 “We wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Yeshua who delivers us from the wrath to come.”
Glimpses into heaven:
Revelation 7:9 “After these things I looked and behold a great multitude which no one could number of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne, before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”
This event takes place “after these things”, which refers to the seal judgements on the go on earth and is well before the Second Coming.
Palm branches are symbols of victory, triumph and peace.
Revelation 12:12 “Therefore rejoice O heavens and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows he has a short time.”
This scenario above is impossible to place at the end of the tribulation.
Rapture and Second Coming signs:
There may be no immediately visible signs of the rapture, but there most certainly are many relating to Israel and the soon coming tribulation.
Because the rapture, the end of the church dispensation, and the start of the next are so close together in time, it is perfectly legitimate to look to the coming tribulation start as the great sign of the approaching rapture.
Another big sign of the coming tribulation is the coming peace treaty. We will see that coming. It may or may not have some degree of fulfilment in the Kushner “Deal of the century,” soon to be revealed.
Other big signs include the coming war of Gog and Magog, the Damascus war and the Psalm 83 war.
The following scripture relates to the signs at the Second Coming and not the rapture:
Matthew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. The stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and He will send His angels with the sound of a great trumpet and they will gather together the elect from the four winds, from the one end of heaven to the other.”
The “elect” who are “gathered” in the verse above, are the tribulation saints, not the church, who are in heaven at this point.
He will gather His elect at the great trumpet, which is NOT the last trumpet for the church age. At the rapture there are no signs like we see here for the Second Coming when the sun is darkened and moon and stars fall from the sky etc.
At the Second Coming, “All the nations will mourn” and “Every eye will see Him” Every eye will see Him because He will descend to the Mount of Olives in the same manner as He left, which was slowly, with all eyes on Him. This is absolutely not a description of the rapture!
At the rapture our Lord descends to the clouds in a blinding flash to snatch believers up in a moment. (atomo = atomic instant.) He does not come to the earth.
Why is the rapture a meeting in the sky, while the Second Coming is distinctly on earth? It seems odd. The meeting at the Second Coming takes place on the Mount of Olives, and not in the sky.
The answer is to clearly distinguish between the two events. They are separate events and not the same event as claimed by the post-trib crowd.
The unsaved world will not expect the rapture. (1 Thessalonians 5:1-5) To them He comes as a thief in the night. None but the saved will see Him. Destruction comes suddenly. “But you brethren are not in darkness that this day should overtake you.”
Matthew 24:33-34 (The sign of the ripening fig tree – Israel) “When you see all these things, know (Original word = a command to know) that it is near, at the very door. This generation (of Jews) will not pass away until all these things are fulfilled.”
I took this picture of a kokerboom (quiver) tree in Namaqualand and mixed it with feathers.
Shalom and grow in His Grace!
