- Uranium found at new undeclared Iranian site. They are pushing the buttons alright! (The world, particularly the EU’s inability to bring Iran to book is giving them license to continue their march towards their repeated intended goal of attacking Israel.)
- Israel comes under heavy rocket attack from Gaza after the killing of Islamic Jihad terror leader.
- Bible prophecy is about to take another leap forward!
These will change on Sundays or as the Lord leads.
Exodus 19:5-6 “If you (Israel) will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation...”
Amos 9:15 “I will plant them (Israel) in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them, says the Lord God.”
Isaiah 41:11 “Behold all those who were incensed against you (Israel) shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.”
Isaiah 44:18 “They do not know nor understand; for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their hearts so they cannot understand.”
Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
8th November 2019
Shabbat Shalom to all!
The tree-huggers delight:
The Bible uses plants, trees, colours, animals, birds, numbers and more to describe people and nations. It is the subliminal symbols that are of great significance and meaning, especially in relation to Israel.
Did you realise that the entire course of Israel’s history is plotted in the trees? There is much more to these symbols and metaphors - for another time.
Here are some amazing messages blowing in the wind, relating to Israel.
►The Olive tree: (Romans 11)
These trees have very deep, well established roots. They are sometimes called eternal trees, because they are so hardy; they live for many thousands of years. An ancient olive tree appears to die, but then miraculously, new shoots appear out of the dead wood continuing its existence.
The olive tree produces a rich olive oil which has numerous uses, but is also a type of the Holy Spirit. Olive oil is required to keep the temple menorah flames burning. This symbolises light. Olive tree leaves are symbols of peace. Remember the dove bringing back an olive branch to the ark after the flood of judgement.
The root of the olive tree is symbolic of God Himself. The root is called, “holy.”
Biblically, there are two olive trees of importance. The natural olive tree, is symbolic of Israel, and the wild olive tree, is symbolic of the church. The wild olive branch was “grafted” into the natural olive tree, thus partaking of the goodness of the root.
The national emblem of Israel includes two olive branches.
An ancient olive tree grove:
►The Fig tree:
The fig tree is symbolic of spiritual fruitfulness after severe pruning or judgement. It relates to Israel in the tribulation period, awakening to spiritual life.
The fig tree is unique in that its blossoms appear before the leaves. It should have fruit appearing before the leaves. This is why our Lord cursed the unfruitful fig tree, causing it to die. The root was not destroyed though, and a new tree full of fruit, is about to appear.
When the disciples asked out Lord what would be the sign of His coming, He listed a number of judgements to fall on the world. But one of these was the sign of the fig tree.
Matthew 24:32-34 “learn the parable of the fig tree: When is branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So also you when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the very doors. Assuredly, I say to you, ‘this generation (of Jews) will be no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.’”
Present day Zionism and the awakening of the Jews, as well as modern anti-Semitism are signs of the fig tree putting forth leaves and about to produce much spiritual fruit.
►The Almond tree:
The almond is the first tree to flower in its season, which at the end of winter. The flower has five petals to it, five being the number of grace. The temple menorah, a symbol of light, has oil cups or containers in the shape of almond flowers.
The Hebrew word for “almond” is “shakeid” which also means to “awake” and “watch”.
The almond is symbolic of Messiah’s resurrection. It speaks of the supernatural power of God as seen in Aaron’s almond branch that budded in one day. (Numbers 17:8)
Jeremiah 1:11-14 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ I said, ‘I see the branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said, ‘you have seen well for I am about to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, ‘what do you see? And I said, a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’”
The message here is that as the almond (Israel) flowers and buds she will be plunged into the tribulation period.
Jeremiah 31:28 “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy and to afflict them, so I will watch over them to build and plant says the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes...’”
Psalm 80:8-9 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt, You have cast out the nations and planted it. You prepared room for it, and caused it to take deep root and it filled the land.”
This vine, Israel, is described as “the choicest vine.” But it is a vine that also has within it a “winepress.” (Isaiah 5:1-2) The “winepress” speaks of the crushing tribulation to come!
God planted Israel as a “noble vine” of the highest quality, yet it became an alien, degenerate vine. This speaks of Israel's rebellion to Messiah. (Jeremiah 2:21)
As with the olive and the fig tree, the vine will bear its good fruit in its time, which is just around the corner!
►Other trees symbolic of Israel:
Joel 1:12 (Context: Israel is invaded in the tribulation period) “The vine has dried up and the fig tree has withered; and the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree. All the trees of the field have withered. Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
But we know that Israel's story does not end in the tribulation. Joy will return.
The Cedar: Symbol of power, royalty and majesty. The Oak: Symbol of strength and stability. The Palm: Symbol of military victory and victory in Messiah. The Pomegranate: Symbol of abundance and joyfulness. The Acacia: Symbol of beauty. The Myrtle: Symbol of God’s favour and blessing.
The grand summary:
Israel is: Deeply rooted in God with an eternal future. Israel contains the light-producing oil of the Spirit of God and soon will be Messiah’s light of the world! Israel will be at peace soon. The church is a “wild” family member of Israel through our joint root in God. Israel will become fully fruitful after pruning. Israel’s ripening fruit is a sign of Messiah’s coming. Israel will bud and come to life supernaturally in a day and then bring the light of salvation to the Gentile world. Israel will go through the winepress of tribulation, be attacked from the north and fall under calamity, because she was the choicest, noble vine and yet gave herself to paganism. (Baal) Finally Israel will fulfil God’s call and plan in power, majesty and strength, abundance, and blessing.
All of this is revealed in the nature of this forest of trees, and the corresponding Bible verses. How can you not be a tree-hugger!
Edition 457: February 19th 2019
Israel’s friends and enemies:
Psalm 68:13 “Though you (Israel) lie down among the sheepfolds, yet you will be like the wings of a dove, covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.”
After her rejection, Israel is regathered to her land in spiritual blindness. She then repents, sees spiritually, and is accepted by God for His grand finale and culmination of His plan of the ages.
In all of this great drama Israel has had friends of feather who flock together! “There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”. (Proverbs 18:24) We are now in the time of the great divide, where those who will be Israel’s friends and those who will be her enemies, are being manifest.
This edition will cause you to be faced with a choice of who you friends are. And here we’re talking about best friends forever – The real ones - The ones who will lay down their lives for their friend.
Do not underestimate the gravity of these issues and the eternal consequences for you and others whom you may influence!
Spiritual blindness and ignorance are twins. But add to these - spiritual curses, upon those who resist God’s plans for Israel, and you have the deadly triplets.
What constitutes a friend or enemy of Israel?
We are talking about Israel collectively. That includes all of the Promised Land, the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish people in their land and abroad.
The land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem are quite unimportant if God is finished with the Jewish people! What does it then matter? They and their land are then like every worldly land and city.
It’s all important in so far as God has a decreed plan and purpose for the land and people, which is the undeniable case. Friends agree. Enemies don’t and resist.
There is one huge issue here, and that is the growing conflict between the spiritual forces of God and the devil. Most people are totally blind to this war, of which they are part!
The curse on everyone who comes against God’s plans for Israel is mentioned in numerous verses, beginning way back in Genesis 12:3.
The modern day enemies of Israel fall into the categories of anti-Semitism, and replacement theology, which is the Catholic-created belief that the church has replaced Israel and God, has now finished with Israel.
One of my early mentors, Derek Prince said in 1946: “The horrors of anti-Semitism are the longest and deepest hatred of human history.” He identified it as an issue with a purely spiritual source. He said, “Anti-Semitism is anti-Messiah!
Bear in mind that the word “antichrist” means to come against the true Messiah and then replace Him with the false Messiah. The term incorporates anti-Semitism and replacement theology, in that our Messiah is in Israel by His word and covenant promise.
Very often when a believer turns away from the Lord, he turns to the spirit of the devil, consciously or not! There is no such thing as neutrality. (Matthew 12:30) In many cases, such a person becomes anti-Israel the further he moves away from God.
I know a number of people personally, who have turned away from the Lord. One has become an atheist. Another has become an Anglican. Both of them have become anti-Semitic in their views!
How telling is that? You can grow into an anti-Semite – just turn away from the Messiah!
Hatred for God’s plan for the Jews always has a spiritual source. Love for God includes love for His ways, people and choices.
As soon as the pressure is on – watch and see the transition into all manner of extreme forms and the manifestations of pure, satanic Jew - hatred, in and out of the church! It will be one of the great walls and fences of division that God will build.
You will be with Him or against Him.
Israel’s greatest enemy is Satan himself and his mouthpiece, the mass-media. Many people are friends of the mass-media and subject to their guidance. What deadly friends!
The worst enemy is the one who befriends you under false pretences. The “friend” with a back-stabbing knife in his hand, behind his back awaiting your back is a treacherous friend.
Satan befriends people always with ulterior motives, which are to lead you astray and then annihilate you spiritually, then kill you.
A big enemy is right within Israel. The Bible calls them, “The synagogue of Satan.” That would be the legalistic modern Pharisees, or rabbinic Judaism. (Revelation 3:9)
Together with the “synagogue of Satan”, we see the church that “knows the depths of Satan.” (Revelation 2:24) This would be the orthodox churches led by the Catholics. Interestingly, the Catholic church was the chief architect of enmity towards Israel, from its birth (and still is).
Today there is a move within some of the Catholics, Anglicans and other denominational churches to support Israel in some ways. But they all still remain blind to, or opposed to God’s call and plan for Israel. They want Israel for the world-system. They are treacherous friends.
Deuteronomy 25:18-19 “Remember what Amalek did to you when you were coming out of Egypt, how he met you and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God. When the Lord your God has given you rest from your enemies all around in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, you will blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. You shall not forget (to do it).”
Amalek was a grandson of Esau, who was the father of the Arab nations. His people were called the Amalekites, who had the dubious “honour” of being the first nation on earth to attack the Israelites.
The name Amalek is derived from the name Aman meaning “to darken.”
The Amalek spirit is of cruelty and cowardice and will continue to manifest through the age. (Exodus 17:16)
But the terrible thing is that they attacked the weak, tired and weary – the vulnerable and defenceless within the children of Israel. You have to be a special sort of savage to do that – Just like so many today!
It’s not a good idea to be an enemy of Israel or God’s plans for them. The following verses have a prophetic overtone to them:
Psalm 129:5 “Let them all be confounded and turned back who hate Zion.”
Deuteronomy 28:7 “The Lord will cause your enemies (Israel) who rise against you to be defeated before your face. They shall come out against you one way and flee seven ways.”
Isaiah 66:14-16 “The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants and His indignation to His enemies. For behold the Lord will come with fire and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by His sword the Lord will judge all flesh; and the slain of the Lord will be many”
Isaiah 29:5 “The multitude of your foes (Israel) shall be like fine dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passes away; yes it shall be in an instant, suddenly.”
Satan’s plan for Israel is to destroy them. It is also to destroy the friendships and bonds of those who stand with and for Israel in these days.
You know the “why me” syndrome, when things go badly wrong for you? Well, very soon Israel will be faced with great catastrophe and war. They will rightly say, “Why me?” This is just when Israel will need all the friends she has.
Often, when there are great catastrophes, no matter who caused them; people look to themselves in repentance. There is just something good and right about having clean hands when dealing with battles or opposition.
Friends are people who talk well of you, who stand for you, who support you.
Israel has been a curse among the nations, but will soon become a blessing to the nations! Talk about going from curse to blessing!
Psalm 44:13-14 “You make us (Israel) a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to those all around us. You make us a byword (curse-word) among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.”
Zechariah 8:13 “It shall come to pass that just as you were a curse amongst the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, let your hands be strong.”
Israel is God’s prodigal son – don’t get in the way of the son coming home!
The father loved the prodigal son. The brother did not! Can you love a prodigal son that you know for a certainty will soon return home in repentance? Can you love the now-unlovely?
Today many Christians have a dozen reasons why Israel is unlovely. They themselves are the short-sighted ones!
Isaiah 42:6 “I the Lord have called you (Israel) in righteousness, and will hold your hand; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles.”
It is the Lord Himself who will “hold Israel’s hand” with His nail-scared hands. Very soon the Jews will recognise the “pierced” One! Can you hold Israel’s other hand? Can you be a true friend of Israel, knowing God’s wonderful plan for them?
Picture this: Israel is walking down the road. A Lion is walking next to her, holding her hand, and you, fellow friend, are holding her other hand.
Today far too many are blindly holding the evil beast’s hand in friendship – they speak his cursed words, and do the wicked works of their friend.
Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort, yes comfort My people! Says your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand, double for all her sins.”
The verse above is speaking to the church. It’s not saying, “Israel must comfort Israel.” That does not make sense. The church is the only other candidate that fits the bill.
A real friend intercedes, prays and guides his friends out of danger. “Babylon” in the verse below is the world-system and the false religious system of the world.
Jeremiah 27:18 “If they are prophets and if the word of the Lord is with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, do not go to Babylon.”
Beware, beware beware:
There is not much we can do about anti-Semitism in the world, except pray against it. But replacement theology in the church is a terrible danger, because it comes from within.
The spirit of antichrist comes from within the church. (1 John 2:19) Is it any surprise that the works of the devil in their most dangerous from come from within?
Today we are seeing those in ministry, who are not called, not prepared, not equipped and not knowledgeable of the scriptures, being morphed and transformed by curses at work into dangerous ministers of replacement theology.
Deadly wolves harm the weak within the church, the stragglers and the new to the faith.
With some, I noticed the danger a long time ago. Now when the spiritual pressures are intensifying, these things begin to bear their ugly fruit. And the gullible follow them into the devils trap!
Malachi 2:8 “You have departed from the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law (word)...”
Deuteronomy 27:18 “Cursed is he who makes the blind to wander out of the way of God.”
Personally, I turned my back on many of these teachers a long time ago. I don’t care what some of them have to say, I’ve long since rejected them and their ministry.
I strongly advise that in these days, you take special care not to receive suspect material in regard to Israel.
Arising anti-Semitism today, is in itself an indicator that God has not finished with Israel. The god of this world, Satan would not bother if Israel was just another brick in the world’s wall.
Romans 11:11-12 “Have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has gone to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness.”
Please note in the verse above that it is salvation going to the Gentiles that provokes the Jews to jealousy. This is why I have been claiming for a long time now that the rapture of the mostly Gentile church will be the great sign and event that will suddenly lead to the salvation of those left behind.
Application and interpretation:
We must be led by the Spirit in these things. We must interpret what is for Israel for Israel and what is for the church for the church. We can of course, take lessons from all.
Here is a classic, and one of the worst interpretation and application errors I have ever seen:
Isaiah 66:8-10 “...Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? As soon as Zion travailed she gave birth to her children...Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad with her, all you who love her.”
The Revelation 12 –sign teachers all used this verse above as relating to the church, replacing Israel.
It relates to the birth of Israel as a nation in a day, and has application to the coming salvation of Israel. It has nothing to do with the church.
That is an example of fermenting, growing replacement theology.
These things grow legs – beware!
The answer is to avoid them all together until or unless there is repentance. Remember that we are dealing primarily with spirits – the “Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error”.
God’s word, led by the Spirit of God keeps us straight and level and away from a spiral dive!
John 16:1 “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.”
God’s friends and enemies yesterday and today:
In the Bible there are 8728 enemies of Israel mentioned.
Every world empire that tried to destroy the Jews is no more. They were all godless empires.
God destroys His enemies. In many cases He has used Israel as His battle axe. That is the end-time story as well! It is the job of the church to go to war now, in the spirit. We are to stand as the rear guard in prayer and spiritual warfare for our friends.
Of course we operate in forgiveness and mercy, but that is on a personal level. We were not given spiritual weapons and armour to keep them locked up in the cupboard!
We the church, have the high calling of defending the truth with the truth as a spiritual sword.
The friends of the antichrist in and out of the church are doomed.
Obadiah 1:15 “The day of the Lord upon all nations is near; as you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”
Exodus 23:22-27 “If you indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries. I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.”
As Israel went into the Promised Land led by Joshua, they encountered the following enemies, all of Arab descent. God’s command was to destroy them, which the children of Israel did only partially:
- Girgashite: “Clay dweller” – a focus on temporary earthly dwelling.
- Amorite: “To speak against, in pride.”
- Canaanite: “To subdue.”
- Perizzite: “Unwalled or unprotected village.”
- Hivite: “Small village, or limited vision.”
- Jebusite: To humiliate, put down, thresh.
The character of Israel’s enemies is accurately revealed in these word meanings above.
Isaiah 66:6 (The Lord vindicates Zion) “The Sound came of a noise from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord came, who fully repays His enemies.” (Isaiah 59:18)
Isaiah 41:11 “Behold, all those who were incensed against you (Israel) shall be ashamed and disgraced. They shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.”
Israel accepted – the grand end purpose:
Isaiah 66:19 “I will set a sign among them (Jews)...they shall declare My glory among the Gentiles.”
Okay let’s use some logic. If the above verse is true and replacement theology, which replaces Israel with the church, claiming God is finished with the Jews, is also true, then these two are in conflict. That would mean that Israel is the church and therefore the church has to declare God’s glory to the Gentiles in the tribulation period.
Understand very well that the very structure of replacement theology, places the church in the tribulation period, right to the end. That means that all of the church must go through all of the tribulation period. How wrong can you be!
Are you a friend of Israel in your heart? I am, unreservedly!
If God loved you while you were dead in your trespasses and sins, and chose you before the foundation of the earth, do you think He doesn’t love the Jews now in their rebellion? Do you think the Jews don’t deserve God’s love now? You go and tell Him that you deserve His love and not them!
One can understand increasing anti-Semitism in the world but it is truly a despicable, dirty stain when seen in the church in its various forms.
In your own heart and prayer, now is the time to make your alliances. Do the right and wise thing now. Stand with and for Israel.
2 Peter 1:9-10 “Be even more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble, for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom...”
I took the lion picture in the Mabula Private Game Reserve and combined it with a mix of baobab trees around the country.
Shalom and grow in His Grace!
