|This ministry has a distinct kingdom, Messianic vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people and the church. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My calling is to share these great end-time dramas, to stand as a watchman and above all, to glorify my God.|

●Israel launches attacks in Lebanon to destroy Hezbollah (backed by Iran) terror tunnels.
●Iran test new nuclear-capable missiles, violating UN resolution! (I wonder why!)
●Germany’s Merkel urges EU nations not to move embassies to Jerusalem.
Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
Edition 321: July 20th 2016
The great backfire!
The great backfire:
You don’t mock God and get away with it! You don’t oppose Him and come against His revealed will without running into huge trouble. Bear in mind that our great Messiah is both the Lamb of God and the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
I have had numerous encounters with wild lions out in the wilds of the Southern African nations. While working on endangered species programs, I’ve encountered lions while on foot, slept under the stars with lions roaring all around (and a fire going.)
I was once out in a private game reserve owned by a friend of mine, an ex-Miss South African, who gave up that world for the wilds. We followed on foot as a lion led us into a group of five other lions tearing a buffalo to pieces for dinner.
I’ve seen a tourist taken out of her sleeping bag and devoured by a lion in the Okavango. I’ve seen others killed by lions. Very few people ever escape from the jaws of a lion, and you can never outrun a lion.
All lion-encounters in the wilds are highly dramatic and special events. At full roar – the air and even the ground shakes. All other animals keep quiet, it’s a memorable event. This really is the reason why our Lord is compared to a lion.
Once, some time ago, I was with a group of conservationists spending the night on a large island in the 15,000 sq. km. Okavango Delta. We slept under the stars, with the night divided up and each person taking their turn sitting night-watch to keep the fire going. We heard lions roaring at seven different points around us – and this was an island! It was an uncomfortable night.
The funny thing is that we could smell the lions and hear their breathing and their footsteps, but we never even saw them on this occasion. In the morning there were lion tracks all around us.
The point of this story is that the Lion of God is harmless to us that are of His family and love Him. This Lion loves us too. To be loved by a Lion is a wonderful thought! Imagine going for a walk around your neighbourhood with your great friend an enormous Lion walking next to you!
The One who is shortly to return is returning as the Lion and many will not outrun Him or escape His jaws. They will find out the real hard way that they have been taught half-baked hogwash, a soft, soppy, gospel with only the Lamb and no Lion.
Please note that our Jewish Messiah, the “Lion of the tribe of Judah”, is a Jewish Lion and everything about His soon coming relates to the Jews and the world’s treatment of them! “When He roars, His sons will come trembling from the west.” (Hosea 11:10)
Joel 3:16 “The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and the earth shall shake; the Lord will be a shelter for His people and the strength of the children of Israel.”
The great backfire, the subject of this edition, is the tragic mistake that many make because they have only been taught about the love of the Lamb. The Bible teaches: “Consider the goodness and severity of God.” This is a devouring Lamb that roars!
Unsaved world and all anti-Semites, remember this one thing: You may think you are a lion too, but you are a sick, diseased, starved lion ready to die. When you try to hunt any of God’s people, you are messing with the wrong Lion!
Ezekiel 13:18 “...Will you hunt the souls of My people and keep yourselves alive?”
Isaiah 41:11 “Behold all those who were incensed against you (Israel) shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.”
France, and the rest of Europe for that matter, has still not learnt their lesson. “Be strong France” says the media. What a tragedy, says everyone. And rightly so! The public are soft targets and as such attacking the soft and vulnerable makes you a spineless hell-filled swine.
But no one at all is looking at the underlying problem, and this is why it’s only going to escalate. France has not learnt its anti-Semitic lesson. In fact anti-Semitism is growing fast in Europe, just as it did before WW11. France is one of the world’s leaders of soft anti-Semitism and support for the devil’s two-state solution, which we all know is a one-state solution – a Muslim state in Israel.
France, your anti-Semitism has and will backfire on you as it will with the rest of Europe.
If you have forsaken the word of God, then the god of the Jezebels in the mass media are your gods. They will show you the right way to hell. Just listen to them and receive their opinions on all these things.
The great, shocking, surprising backfire:
Many will be caught in this great whiplash, in the great sting of God.
Tragically, the anti-Semitic leaders of the world will soon be devoured, burnt to ashes, turned to bones in the coming destruction. “Well, that’s a bit severe, Joel” – you say! Read on my friends!
Psalm 102 prefigures the Holocaust and the world’s acts of anti-Semitism. This would include the mass-murder of the Jews in the Inquisitions by the Catholic church.
The Nazi’s Auschwitz:
Psalm 102:3-11 “My days (Jews) are consumed like smoke and my bones are burned like a hearth (furnace). My heart is stricken and withered like grass, like one starved of bread, my bones cling to my skin. I am like a pelican of the wilderness...My enemies reproach me all day long and swear an oath against me. For I have eaten ashes like bread and mingled my drink with weeping...my days are like a shadow which lengthens and I wither away like grass.”
Do you see how clearly the Holocaust is viewed in Psalm 102? Here now is the big backfire-surprise upon all anti-Semites and the enemies of Israel and those who stand in the way of the soon-coming salvation of the Jews:
Psalm 21:8-12 Your hand (God) will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them. Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, and their descendants from among the sons of men. For they intended evil against You; they devised a plot that they were not able to perform. Therefore You will make them turn their backs; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string towards their faces.”
The backfire is not finished:
Do you see the backfire caused by God and His battle-axe, Israel, in Psalm 21 above?
But hang on there, God is not finished with the great backfire.
There is no section of scripture in the Bible that more closely and accurately prefigures the Holocaust than that of Psalm 102 which we’ve just looked at above. But that’s not the end of Psalm 102! It contains the most dramatic, glorious, wonderful, spectacular backfire on the devil that you can imagine.
Just as the Jews in the Holocaust, must have been at the point of giving up in total despair, comes the answer...For most of them it was too late! But I am using this prophetically now as was the purpose of the Psalm.
Let’s continue with Psalm 102, after the “Holocaust”
Psalm 102:13-28 “You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for the time to favour her has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust. So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. For the Lord shall (Lit=when) build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. This will be written for a generation to come...The children of Your servants will continue, and their descendants will be established before You.”
So now we have the end of the backfire. God has brought His and Israel’s enemies to destruction in His “fiery oven”, and now the favour of God is poured out on His choice, His love, His people – Israel, the very subject and target of the devil’s attacks! What an incredible failure the Holocaust was! What a failure all the mass murders of the Catholic church was!
What a failure Islam is and its terrorism.
Do you also see the “backfire” of good in this great drama? What victory there is for God’s people!
Genesis 50:20 “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good...to save many people alive.”
Note those closing words of the backfire-verse: Israel will be established. God’s original purpose and plan for the Jews will be established. It will come to pass. Unfortunately, because of the satanic hatred in His enemies, it will be established on the wings of war and destruction.
God’s love and His choice are sacrosanct:
So you think gentle Jesus meek and mild would never harm a flea because He just loves everything and everyone – Oh, how sweet! “Look Ethel, there’s baby Jesus in a lovely little manger with little lambs all around! We should go home and get baby Jesus out of the Christmas cupboard.”
Our Lord’s love is selective! Yes He loves the whole world, but only through the “eyes” of the cross of Calvary. Be careful in what you believe! God’s love and choice is supreme and He will defend what and who He loves against His enemies.
But what about John 3:16, you protest! I say there is no such thing. There is John 3:16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21! Perhaps you should try reading them – you will be shocked!
I say again, as I have many times – Some reading these very words will soon become enemies of the living God. They will become enemies of the cross and then enemies of God’s word upon Israel, and then enemies of the full word and then enemies of God Himself.
In most cases it’s progressive.
Many will be caught in the great backlash! Oh, yes there’s great revival coming, but at the same time, the “love of many is growing cold.”
Beware; there are some things that are much more dangerous than others. Some things are spiritually charged with strong, powerful spiritual forces. There are some things that will absolutely get you “handed over” by God to the devil and you will not be able to escape. Read Romans 1 where three times in the chapter, unrepentant homosexuals and their supporters are handed over by God!
The arranging of the stage:
There are so many things on the go now that are all leading to the grand finale. The stage is almost set and ready. The main central actor is Israel and the Jewish people. And just like a well constructed dramatic play, we have the tragic enemies lurking, awaiting their entrance and incredible defeat.
Israel is waiting in the wings. Right now, thankfully, Israel is on the sidelines with only a few minor events taking place. It’s the lull before the storm! Soon Israel will be centre-stage!
The curtains will soon go up. Most of this drama will occur in the tribulation period, but we are now in the time period of forerunners and labour pains although even those will greatly intensify as we approach the rising of the stage curtains.
Here are a few verses that should shake you and awake you. These verses may not seem like the nice happy ones from “My daily Bible Verses” happy box. But they are perhaps your best friends, because they spell out God’s warnings. How wonderful of our God to show us where to go and where not to go!
Isaiah 66:14 “The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants, and His indignation to His enemies.”
Isaiah 65:13-14 “Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you (enemies of God) shall be ashamed; behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and wail for grief of spirit.”
Isaiah 60:14 “Those who afflicted you (Israel) shall come bowing to you, and those who despised you, shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you, ‘the city of the Lord, Zion the Holy One of Israel.”
Ezekiel 35:12-14 “I, the Lord have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to consume.’ Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them.’ Thus says the Lord God: ‘The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate.”
Psalm 2:6-9 “I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree; the Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potters vessel.”
We have seen the backfire on the enemies of Israel and God. But let’s have a look now at the “backfire” of the goodness and love of God:
The blessing on the pro-Israel Gentiles:
Isaiah 40:1-2 “Comfort, yes comfort My people! (Addressed to Gentile believers) says Your God. Speak comfort to Jerusalem and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand, double for all her sins.”
Isaiah 49:22-23 “Thus says the Lord God: Behold I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations (Gentiles), and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your (Israel’s) sons in their arms and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. Kings (Gentile) shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me.”
Isaiah 56:6-8 “The sons of the foreigner (Gentiles) who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants – everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant – even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer.”
There have always been a handful of Gentiles who have stood with the Jews in their troubled times. Some have given their lives for the children of Israel.
A better way to see it is that we should have a love for God’s choice and what He loves. If we love Him we will love His word and His word upon Israel. But our love for Israel must always be secondary.
There is nothing wrong with having God’s enemies as your own too, just be careful how you let it play out.
Israel will ultimately be invincible. Zechariah 12:9 “It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem.”
Psalm 105:15 “Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.”
Make your choice! Confess it out loud. Speak it and pray it. Anchor it in the Lord. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
Joshua 24:15 “If it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served or the gods of the Amorites. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Beware, some churches:
Satan’s ace trump is to get right into the church and even stand behind the pulpit.
There are many churches today who won’t touch the subject of Bible prophecy (eschatology). They are either blind to it all, totally deceived or just trying to tow the line of their stupid hierarchy and denominational leaders sitting around a round table in their neat suits, blinded and spreading the blindness.
Some churches are preparing their flock for abundant blessing and some churches are preparing their flock for eternal disaster.
There are some churches teaching Bible prophecy and doing it excellently. There are some wonderful prophecy teachers out there and some who do regular updates – excellent. Good stuff JD!
On a personal level, it’s always a good idea to take things that are very important and drum them into your heads. “Write the vision” says the Bible. Write out Bible verses on these things and proclaim them in your prayer.
On many occasions, when I was young and fit, I used to lead groups climbing high mountains nearby, camping on top and proclaiming these verses on Israel out loud from the mountain tops. We would shout them, making them echo from different pinnacles, sing them and sit and pray silently. Sometimes we were hit by vicious storms, and sometimes we had some injuries to deal with. These mountains are over 3000m (10,000ft) high and very dramatic.
The picture below is of these mountains of proclamation.
I took this picture from a chopper flying over the back of the Cathedral Peak and Bell, looking towards the Chessmen at sunset. This is in the Drakensberg range of mountains.
Shalom and grow in His Grace!
