|This ministry has a distinct kingdom, Messianic vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people and the church. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My calling is to share these great end-time dramas, to stand as a watchman and above all, to glorify my God.|

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

What we will be rewarded for and not:
What we will be rewarded for and not:
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 “If anyone builds on this foundation (salvation in Messiah) with gold, silver and precious stones, wood, hay, and straw, each one’s work will become manifest; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yes so as through fire.”
Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
What’s the culmination, end purpose and point of the Christian life? It is the resurrection and journey into eternity. It is the fulfilling and completion of God’s call and plan for you. It is the eternal reward state of all true believers in the Kingdom of our great King.
But there’s one little snag! The Bible says: “Those who were ready went in”! If it says, “those who were ready went in”, logically it means that those who were not ready did not go in; which is in fact brought out clearly in that parable of the ten virgins.
Are you ready? Do you have enough “oil in your lamps” to get through this deep, dark and dangerous end-time night?
Are you on course with our Lord? The world is on course with its god! (Ephesians 2:2) The world is on course for its eternal reward – judgement to hell!
If you are on course with God, you will not be on the world’s course. You will overcome the world (1John 5:4) and you will be hated by those of the world (John 15:18) as evidence that you are on the right course.
It is incorrect to have the attitude of service to the Lord for reward. We serve the Lord out of love simply because it is right and because He has asked us to – that’s enough of a reason. But our Lord has promised reward and revealed to us many details about the rewards.
I know my attitude is one of service because I love my Lord, reward or not!
You are not here by chance. You are here by design, with purpose, a plan, meaning and a specific call. You are part of an exclusive giant, beautiful, wonderful, majestic, multifaceted body, destined for eternal glory and many things no one can even imagine.
Do you know where you are going?
“Idiot driver...don’t you know where you’re going”? How many times have you heard that or even said it while someone does a U-turn in front of you? I know I have.
It’s a good idea to have an idea where you’re going before you get in the car, or at least to have some idea of what your destination looks like, -that’s so obvious isn’t it?
Unfortunately far too many Christians have no idea where they are going. It’s a hit and miss life, ruled by chance and haphazard ideas and principles dictated by multitudes of voices from foreign gods. They’re like sheep – all blindfolded following one another!
Getting to know your specific call in our Lord’s kingdom is as involved as getting to know our Lord Himself, but it is easy if we apply the right principles. That’s the problem though; there are so many voices out there all contesting for our attention.
Our primary focus must be the word of God as revealed and inspired by the Spirit of God in our hearts. We are not to blindly follow like blinded sheep! There’s a very big difference in following our Lord like sheep with our eyes and minds open, and simply following blindly.
If you are seeking and finding the Lord, what will you find?
There are many fruits and characteristics of people who are seeking, finding and still wanting more of the deeper things of God. There are characteristics of those who have encountered the presence of God. Some things would be individual and personal and some things universal to all.
These are just a handful of the more general fruits:
You will see the world as already judged and destroyed.
Jeremiah 4:26 “The fruitful land was a wilderness and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the Lord, by His fierce anger.”
Hebrews 13:14 “For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.”
How do you see the world? Is your life a “continuing city” in this world? Or do you see it all as already judged and finished?
Here is the opposite of the two verses above:
2 Peter 3:3-4 "Know this that in the last days scoffers will come, walking according to their own lusts and saying ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
So here it is: Are you comfortable here in the world? Do you see it as a continuation? Sorry, if you do, you don’t know God one little bit!
The “great comfort” for the believer on course with our Lord is in being “caught up” out of this world and not being comfortable in it! (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
If you are truly seeking and finding our Lord your self-life (also termed the flesh) will be shattered and broken.
Matthew 24:44 “Whoever falls on this rock (Yeshua) will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
1 Corinthians 1:29 “No flesh shall glory in His presence.”
Zechariah 2:13 “Be silent all flesh before the Lord...”
Do you still argue with God about the rights of the homosexual or the abortionist? Do you still argue with God about what He has, is, and will bring to judgement? Are you, like many Christians, still full of yourself and all your great worldly opinions?
I’m afraid you are a nothing. You don’t know God one little bit. If you did your opinions would be His.
Can you even see or sense their presence? Do you entertain demons in your heart as you entertain yourself in front of the great satanic god Hollywood? Do you justify the foul language and blasphemy of the entertainment world?
Do demons obey you and leave when commanded, or do they make themselves at home in your life because of your lifestyle, which is welcoming to them?
If you are on the right course with our Lord, there will be a freedom deep in your heart on all these issues. You’ll just know it!
Some personal testimony:
Of course there are many ways and methods to seek the presence of our Lord. I would like to share with you some of my own personal testimony in this regard. I do so without any motivations except to help you.
In the late 70s I began to get desperate to know my Lord more. I had a very successful job as a journalist, photographer, and war correspondent, working all around the world. I became very frustrated with the world. It simply couldn’t fulfil or satisfy me anymore. I found it very difficult after getting saved in 1976 to get to know this God whom I knew was now my Lord.
After leaving the media world, I set my heart to seek, search and know my Lord. I went on many long fasts, denying myself and studying the scriptures through various Bible courses and study programs. As I moved on, I discovered how little I knew and how much more, I want to know my Lord.
I drew up a “denial of self” list and set various things to eradicate from my life. These were not necessarily sinful things, just the things of the world. I decided to make my list as radical and costly to my normal ways as possible.
This list marked a wonderful transition point in my life. As I progressed in keeping all the points on my list, so my Lord filled those gaps with an overflowing of His presence.
I knew I had found something incredible. I had found one of the keys to deep peace... to the very presence of my Lord. The changes in me that I sought began to become more and more of a reality.
This denial list had become so important that I thought other believers would also think much the same thing. Was I ever wrong about that!
I shared my list and fasting methods with a few people. They politely said “that’s interesting”, but they resented it. I shared a few of those things a few times in some churches and was met with argument, resistance, and cynicism. Luckily, I had some friends on the same journey with me, so we supported each other, but I found only a strange resistance from many.
Actually, the resistance inspired me on further, but I was surprised at it, so I very rarely share my list.
Denying self is a completely useless exercise if not done by, in and through the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is only then that it yields results.
Included in my desperate search to know my God more intimately and deeply, I often went off into the deserts and wild places nearby. Removing myself from civilization was to me a very valuable time.
Draw up your own denial list, pray over it, and let our Lord draw you into it, while at the same time seeking Him in prayer, fasting and Bible study.
Some characteristics of eternity:
In various passages of scripture we get glimpses of eternity and our eternal state.
We see that believers in heaven maintained their central characters. This would of course be with all the sin and negative traits removed. But essentially we keep our recognisable identity.
We see that people had knowledge of each other and recollection of when here on earth. We will know our family and friends. We see that people had full recollection of their lives on earth.
We see that there is a full consciousness and knowledge of conditions in heaven in great detail. We see that our brains will suddenly “know all things just as we are known by our Lord.”
Here are some very insightful verses dealing with rewards:
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for your service to the Lord.”
Isaiah 40:10 “Behold the Lord will come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him. Behold His reward is with Him.”
Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
Mark9:41 “Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Messiah, assuredly I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
1 Peter 5:4 “When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.”
Hebrews 10:35 “Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”
Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Revelation 2:10 “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
What Christians will not be rewarded for?
People will not be rewarded for a successful life and trying their best. People will not be rewarded for going to church, being good, helping others, or following the ways of the world and being politically correct. People will not be rewarded for being like everyone else and being a sheep of the world. People will not be rewarded for towing the line of the ways of the world!
What we will be rewarded for:
Compiled from numerous verses:
●We will be rewarded for being successful in following our Lord’s call and following Him.
●We will be rewarded for obeying the voice of God in that “still small voice” in our hearts.
●We will be rewarded for denying self and taking up our own cross.
●We will be rewarded for doing good in His name.
●We will be rewarded for separating and detaching ourselves from the world system.
●We will be rewarded for laying the axe at the roots of sin and walking in holiness.
●We will be rewarded for fearing our Lord, knowing Him deeply and operating in His power.
●We will be rewarded for getting ready for His coming, watching and warning others.
●We will be rewarded for knowing the signs of the times.
●We will be rewarded for judging between right and wrong from a Biblical point of view.
●We will be rewarded for obeying the law of the Spirit in our hearts as revealed in epistles.
●We will be rewarded for our attitudes, prayer, and actions relating to Israel.
There are numerous other things mentioned throughout the Bible that will bring reward.
It is also very important to understand that these rewards will in some way be built into our future resurrection state and will be eternal. The rewards will also bring position and authority to believers in the eternal Kingdom.
And of course let’s not forget that we will all suffer loss of some reward for the dumb things we have done!
The Jews, the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem:
This is so exciting to write about! This subject is so full of gravity, truth, error, love, hatred, conflict and peace. I am constantly shocked at how ignorant most Christians are on the subject and just as shocked at how deceived so many churches are about it all.
The Bible is rich with many entire portions of scripture on the repentance of Israel in these last days. There are also numerous types and shadows throughout the scriptures.
In fact our Lord is so strongly committed to His plan for Israel that He has promised many blessings and rewards for those who are with Him. And there are many curses promised for those who come against God and His word on this issue.
Isaiah 62:1 “For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a lamp that burns.”
Psalm 129:5 “Let them all be confounded and turned back who hate Zion.”
Obadiah 1:10 “For your (Esau – a type of the modern Palestinians) violence against your brother Jacob (Jews) shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.”
Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you (Israel), and I will curse him who curses you.”
Ezekiel 20:41-42 “I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I lifted My hand in an oath to give to your fathers.”
Psalm 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”
Zechariah 3:2 “The Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire’?”
Zechariah 1:17 “My cities shall again spread out through prosperity. The Lord will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”
Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away (divide it), will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”
Romans 10:1 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.”
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah, for it is the power of God to salvation, for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).”
Matthew 10:6 “Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (the Jews).”
Joel 3:2 “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgement with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”
Micah 4:11. “Now many nations have gathered against you, who say, ‘Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.’ But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, nor do they understand His counsel; for He will gather them like sheaves for the threshing floor.”
Most people think that they will automatically be rewarded for giving to or helping the poor. But as revealed earlier, it is really only what is done in His name and as a result of His leading that is rewarded.
Our Lord is not politically correct.
Matthew 25:28-29 “Take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.”
No, no, no God – you’ve got it wrong. You don’t give to the one who has! You give to the one who doesn’t have! Come on God – don’t you know that we must level the playing field and make everyone equal?
Note from this verse, above (and there are many more like it) that God gives to those who have.
I know a woman who gives to a poor beggar frequently. The beggar has remained a beggar for many years. I know another woman who gave to a beggar, led her to the Lord and into deliverance from generational curses, setting her free. She is not a beggar anymore.
Don’t give up! If you have really messed up your life or even just parts of it – don’t give up! Our Lord may well be allowing you to fall so that His ultimate purposes may be revealed.
►Daniel 11:35 “Some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purge them, and make them white until the time of the end; it is still for an appointed time.”
Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy.”
We must have eternity set in our hearts looking to the things we can’t see.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts.”
I took this picture of these gentle giants and good friends in the Savuti region of Botswana.
Shalom and grow in grace!
