|This ministry has a distinct kingdom, Messianic vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people and the church. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My calling is to share these great end-time dramas, to stand as a watchman and above all, to glorify my God.|

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

Can you change the outcome of prophecy!
Can you change the outcome of prophecy?
I am not referring here (in fact I never am) to personal predictive prophecy given by an individual over another in the name of the Lord. I am always speaking of Bible prophecy.
Many people believe that any negative results or outcome of Bible prophecy can be changed, by human actions, wishful thinking, praying or any such intervention. The prophecy would then not come to pass, they believe. By changing the behavioural course we can change the outcome of prophecy. This is a very common belief today.
Nothing can be further from the truth.
If you reject or downplay Bible prophecy you have doomed yourself to a life of self-made sterility and shallowness.
“You can change the decree of prophecy” is the cry many spiritually dead and blind people. They believe that Bible prophecy has no relevance because it is a “decree” that can be changed, if people would act differently and heed the warnings contained in prophecy.
This erroneous belief is widely held amongst secular Jews, but has also been infiltrated into the church by false teaching. You would be surprised how many rabbis and pastors believe and teach this.
Of course it appeals to the sinful flesh-nature of man.
Job 15:8 “Have you heard of the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?”
What is prophecy?
The word means to foretell or predict the future from beforehand. It is not warning in the general sense although prophecy contains warning. Bible prophecy is the utterance of God who knows the future. He knows the end from the beginning and spells it out.
Isaiah 46:9-10 “I am God and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things are not that yet done, saying My counsel shall stand.”
John 16:13 “...He will show you things to come.”
Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets.”
Bible prophecy is God’s key to unlock and plot the course of time. It is God’s key for individuals to anchor their lives in Messiah. It is the key, unlocking the plot and plans of God for His Church and His kingdom. It reveals the deadly future for Satan and his kingdom.
Bible prophecy is the great key unveiling the Lion of the tribe if Judah – Yeshua, our Lord, King and Messiah.
Bible prophecy contains predictive elements that are still to come to pass at the time of the utterance. Many things can be defined as prophecy although the wording or context may be more general.
Bible prophecy doesn’t only deal with judgement, but it is a major part of it. If Bible prophecy is true – judgment is coming and judgement ends all discussion, dispute, disagreement. People don’t like the idea of coming judgement; this is why they don’t like prophecy.
Some prophecies are indeed warnings and the outcome can be changed if the warning is heeded. But because there are warnings to be heeded in some, that does not make it so for all prophecy.
In fact Bible prophecy declares and shows that most people will not heed the warnings of prophecy and then come under its judgement.
The most wonderful, profound discourse on prophecy:
2 Peter 1: 19-21 “We have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your heart; knowing this, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
The previous few verses speak of being eyewitnesses, and hearing with the ear. This powerful portion of scripture declares that Bible prophecy is the “more sure thing”. It is more- sure than seeing or hearing!
This is one of my all time favourite passages of scripture. It is so profound and far reaching and is especially most relevant to our subject.
When you realise that Bible prophecy is the most sure thing, the morning star has arisen in your heart. The morning star is the planet Venus which arises in the darkest part of the night and signals that the day is soon to break. When you realise the importance of prophecy, you are about to walk in the light!
People walking in light have the least obstacles and problems in their lives. They are the safest and best people to be around, opposed to people walking in the dark.
There is incredible power in prophecy. How good it is to have this supernatural Holy Spirit as our own close friend guiding and leading us.
It is all of God’s word, but it is prophecy in particular that lights up our lives. Here is the opposite situation:
Job 38:15 “From the wicked their light is withheld...”
Note well, in the verse above in 2 Peter, that Bible prophecy is not of man, but of God. Because God knows the future exactly, His prophetic word is absolutely cast in stone. It has always and will always come to pass exactly as He predicted.
Methods people use to change the outcome of prophecy:
Ignore it and it will go away. This is perhaps the biggest problem today. Most people are just not interested, because they are consumed by their own selves.
Many people apply the false beliefs and errors such as, God is love and would never harm a flea. They are unaware that judgment upon sin and the establishment of holiness is love in action. Discipline and correction is part of love. And the lack of it is hatred in action.
Many people believe that Bible prophecy has no relevance to today’s life styles, because it was written so long ago. The exact opposite is the truth. Prophecy is the most powerful miraculous insight into today’s world and the veracity of the Bible.
Some use the scripture in 2 Peter 3:12 “...Looking for and hastening the Day of God (by godly conduct)”. They maintain that we can speed it up, thus changing the numerous verses spelling out the numbered days. This verse is badly misused. The original word for “hastening” means “urging onwards” and does not imply a speeding up or changing of the time. Our holy living “urges us onwards” to His coming.
We have a similar thing in Matthew 24:22 where it says that “unless these days were shortened, no flesh would be saved.” Again that is a mistranslation. The original words used imply this: “Unless those days were cut out of time, no flesh would be saved.” The tribulation period will not be one day less than seven years. It is the seven years that is the “shortened, cut-out” time.
Many people (most) believe the word of the mass-media – the voice of the devil. In many respects the word of the mass-media is the opposite of God’s word.
The biggest problem in this regard today is ignorance of God’s word and the knowledge and practice of the world’s word. You are a blind rebel if you have been a believer for some time and are still ignorant of the word. You are on thin ice, which will soon be burned up by the fires of hell below you.
You do not have the liberty to pick and chose which parts of the Bible you want.
Has any Bible prophecy ever failed to come to pass?
Bible prophecy has a 100% fulfilment record. Even finely detailed prophecies that have been fulfilled in the past were fulfilled exactly. Of course there are still many prophecies still to be fulfilled. They will all be fulfilled in the same manner as those that have already been fulfilled.
Past fulfilment gives us the pattern. It is literal and exact.
Examples of warning:
The verses below are important in regard to our subject. These are verses with a variable outcome. These are verses where the outcome can be changed by the actions of the individuals concerned. But that is not the case with all prophecy by any means. It is not the prophecy that changes, but God’s attitude to the receiver’s reaction; if they don’t change the outcome stands.
Jeremiah 26:13 “Now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; then the Lord will relent concerning the doom that He has pronounced against you.”
Deuteronomy 6:14-15 “You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you...lest the anger of your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.”
Ezekiel 3:17-19 “Son of man I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth and give them warning from Me...If you warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness he shall die in his sins, but you have delivered your soul.”
Examples of unchangeable prophecy:
The following few verses (hundreds more) contain an outcome which can’t be changed by the actions of anyone. These are cast in stone and will come to pass fully.
Isaiah 13:11 “I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.”
Luke 21:20-24 “...These are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled.” (The context here is judgement.)
Matthew 24:6 “You shall hear of wars and rumours of war. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
Revelation 3:16-17 “Because you are lukewarm and neither cold not hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.”
Revelation 3:10 “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”
Isaiah 42:16 “I will bring the blind (Jews) by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them.”
Prophecy gives us direction and reveals its timing to us. If you go on a journey, you want to know which direction you are to go and you want to know how long it will take you. And of course you want to see all the landmarks, milestones and finer directions and adjustments along the way.
The tragedy today is far too many believers are on the wrong road to start with! Imagine heading off somewhere and when you get to your destination you find you were on the wrong road all along. I’ve used that phrase in numerous editions, but it is so true, so real and so scary.
So-called failed prophecy:
There are many occasions when a person believes that some particular word of prophecy in the Bible should be fulfilled according to his own interpretation. It doesn’t come to pass and “fails”. Actually it hasn’t failed, but it is the interpreter that has failed.
Some prophecy is hard to understand and we do get things wrong from time to time. That’s obviously a result of failure to hear the word of the Lord in that prophecy. Getting Bible prophecy doesn’t make you a false prophet. It is an individual uttering personal prophecy that doesn’t come to pass that is a false prophet.
Our job and call is to “watch, pray and be ready” no matter what. We are to use whatever time God grants us to do His will.
I agree there are far too many failed interpretations of Bible prophecy today, because there are too many who are unqualified to be in this ministry in the first place.
1 Corinthians 14:33 “God is not the author of confusion.”
John 18:37 “...Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
A failed interpretation does no harm to the original prophecy – only to the so-called prophet- and it will come to pass God’s way and in His time.
The most amazing thing!
If you’ve had anything to do with the church you would have realised that very few have anything to do with Bible prophecy, yet 27% of the Bible contains prophecy.
Please understand that if you cast down, remove or reject Bible prophecy, you will have your life focused on the world. Not necessarily sin, but just general worldliness. That, in fact is a prophecy cast in stone. “End time scoffers will say, where is the hope of His coming, all things will continue as always.” (2 Peter 3:3-4).
Amazingly we are charging down the road of prophetic fulfilment so fast, the requirements for direction are even more urgent and these churches ignore it even more.
There are some pastors I know who are so far off track I would like to--- Can you read my thoughts?
What an incredible thing, that these church leaders would starve their flock and as a result inflict on them all the poison and disease of the devil.
Is it any wonder that the prisoners of these pastors are worldly, fleshly, and full of demons! And no I’m not trying to be dramatic – that is so, so true.
Another most amazing thing:
Working with and dealing with our great God and His great word is the greatest thing imaginable. Knowing the depths of our Lord is so deeply fulfilling, meaningful and exciting. Psalm 34:8 (Parallel’s with 2 Peter 1:19-21 above) “Oh taste of the Lord and see that He is good, blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh fear the Lord you His saints! There is no want to them that fear Him.”
Isaiah 33:6 “Wisdom and knowledge (of God) will be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation: The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”
What an amazing privilege we have been given to know and fellowship with the God of the universe.
Prophecy is an anchor for your soul in the Kingdom of God. If your anchor is missing you’ll drift all over the place! What an enormous tragedy to see how many people who once walked well with our Lord are now shipwrecked because they had no secure anchor.
In these stormy times there are and will be a lot more end -time attacks on the truth. Deception will be one of the biggest issues of the day.
What must you do?
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
If you can change the outcome of Bible prophecy, you can change the word on heaven and hell. In essence you are then the decider. That would make you God! What arrogance!
Do you want to mess with Bible prophecy, or the Bible as a whole for that matter?
I took this picture on the beautiful Chobe River, Botswana. This is one of the most spectacular places on this earth...one of my favourite spots!
