|This website comprises the Abrahamic Expression of faith, which goes to the Jew and the Gentile, with a Messianic slant. I affirm the fullness of biblical truth, embracing the cross of Calvary. I reject Babylonian paganism in the church and the legalistic excesses of the Messianic Movement. This ministry has a distinct kingdom vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My interest in Bible prophecy was instant. My calling came soon afterwards. It is to share this great drama, to stand watching and to glorify my God.|

●Gaza is again erupting in conflict with Israel. More than 370 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel. Most were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defence system, but some got through. The IDF has just hit 150 terror targets in Gaza. A ceasefire of sorts has just been reached, but generally don't last!
Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
Edition 201. April 2nd 2014
The ministry of the watchmen:
The ministry of the watchmen:
The ministry office of the watchman is perhaps the most important of the ministry gifts to the Church. The five-fold office gift of the prophet is inextricably linked with the watchman. In many respects they are the same.
Ephesians 4:11 “He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists and some pastors and teachers.”
Firstly the office is a calling from God. You can’t be in the office because you want to or would like to be. You can desire it, but only God can call you into it. And He always does so in His time. He only calls people He has prepared.
The preparation of the watchman:
Ezekiel 3:10 “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you and hear with your ears.”
Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.”
The most important thing is to know your calling. That is the only way to success with God.
Today there are many “amateur” watchmen out there. You can see it in their pride, manipulation and the way they always draw attention to and exalt themselves. They are called into their office by themselves, and the voices in their own heads! They are not God’s watchmen / prophets and are not to be trusted, and their ‘prophecies’ only happen by chance, if at all.
The success of your ministry will be proportionate to your depth of growth and experience with our Lord. It will depend on how “dead” you are to self and how severe you have been on yourself in your desperation to know God. It will also depend on your ability to handle hardship and persecution.
The true watchman will be at peace with God in his own heart. He may make mistakes, and like all people will not be perfect, but holiness and perfection will be the driving forces of his life!
The true prophet does not own his life at all and is in total surrender to the Lordship of Yeshua. This messenger of the cross is a crucified person – dead to self, the world and the demonic. A walking dead person is dangerous to the devil. He can’t be manipulated and influenced by the world around him or its demons.
All of the ministry offices demand that the person should not be a novice. He would have been in preparation for a long time, and that preparation would have been drastic, severe, radical and thorough.
His life would have been crushed by God, and raised to newness of His life on the far side of the cross.
The watchman / prophet must be full of God’s authority.
The authority of the watchman / prophet does not come from knowing the Bible. It is in those who are called, know their Bible and are dead to self, the world and the demonic.
Prophets must be full of the Holy Spirit; they must be obedient to God in holiness and separation from worldliness.
The watchman must know very many things. He must know the recent and current news events. He must know the temperature of the church. He must know spirits and how to discern and identify them.
The true watchman spends his life searching and seeking high and low for what God is saying and doing.
Write the vision:
Once the watchman has been thoroughly prepared by our Lord for many years, and has his life filled with God’s word and he sees things totally God’s way, and he knows and hears God’s calling – he is then ready.
Obviously in these days “writing the vision” includes all the media types.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 “Write the vision and make it plain on the tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed timeBut at the end it will speak and it will not lie; though it tarries, wait for it.”
●In the verses below please note the purpose of the watchman / prophet as seen in these powerful words. Note it well!
Jeremiah 1:9-10 “The Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth and said, Behold I have put My words in your mouth. See I have set you this day over kingdoms and nations to root out, and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and plant.”
Jeremiah 1:16-17 “I will utter My judgements against them concerning all their wickedness, because they have forsaken Me, burned incense to other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands. Therefore prepare yourself and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, lest I dismay them before you.”
●Note the attack on the watchman / prophet in the verse below:
Jeremiah 18:18 “They said, come let us devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.”
●Note in the verse below that the false prophets do not cause the people to repent!
Jeremiah 23:21-22 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. If they had stood in My counsel, and had caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil way and from their evil doings.”
●Note in the verse below that a central purpose of the watchman / prophet is to speak God’s word relating to Israel.
Ezekiel 3:17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me.”
Isaiah 40:3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”
Ezekiel 37:12 “Prophecy and say to them, thus says the Lord God: Behold O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves and bring you into the land of Israel.”
●Note in the verse below that the Lord’s prophets are few, while the false prophets abound?
1 Kings 18:21-22 “Elijah said to the people, How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord be God follow Him, but if Baal, then follow him, but the people answered him not a word. Then Elijah said to the people, I alone am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.”
What the watchman is and is not.
The watchman is not one who watches the news and then informs people. That is called a newsman or journalist. In fact the word “journalist” means, “to inform.” This is not a Biblical watchman.
Many so-called watchmen are full of pride.
The true watchman knows all the things in the current news events, but he knows his Bible backwards and knows what is of Biblical importance in the news events, and what is not.
The watchman may also use non or extra-Biblical news, events or items, as the Lord deems fit.
The watchman never cries wolf! (Except of course when he sees the wolf in other watchmen, and behind the pulpit!)
The end of the age is characterised by false doctrine, false teachers, false prophets /watchmen – all dishing out the words of Satan. In the midst of the error is the truth –standing securely as it always has.
The great tension is that the watchman / prophet often sees things that others don’t and long before as well. In many, there is a Godly impatience, which sometimes causes us to jump the gun.
The ministry office of the prophet / watchman is a high and holy calling of God
The central purpose of God through all five ministry gifts, but specifically the prophet / watchman, is to speak on God’s behalf to warn, lead, guide and prepare the way ahead for God to dwell with you and me now and forever.
Intellect is a cheap substitute for God’s wisdom and word.
The tools of the trade:
►Here is a wonderful teaching on “watching” for our Lord by my friend Alan Horvath. Click Here.
The main “tools” and most important by far are the revelatory gifts of the Spirit. These are “Word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discernment of spirits”. These have nothing at all to do with the intellect and are purely supernatural in origin.
The watchman / prophet knows God’s word backwards – he is not a novice by any means. He uses the word of God like a master conductor.
The watchman must chew his food properly and digest it well. If not he may choke and vomit out a whole lot of rubbish. Jeremiah 15:16 “Your words were found and I did eat them.”
The watchman / prophet is always an oddity! He can’t fit in with the world and yet watches the world for others. His life’s motivation is for the love of God and others, but he will never fit in with the norm!
He is God’s own strange alien in this world.
Ezekiel 33:1-7 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, when I bring the sword upon the land and the people of the land...when the watchman sees the sword coming upon the land and if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the trumpet and does not take warning, his blood shall be upon his own head. He who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and the people are removed in their iniquity, their blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.”
Beware the false prophet and false watchman:
Deuteronomy 27:18 “Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way or off the road.”
Colossians 2:8 (Amp) “See to it that no one carries you off or captivates you by so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit, following human traditions, men’s ideas of the material world, following the elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding the teachings of the Messiah.”
The Nicolaitan spirit: They will be known by their titles, luxury living, clothing, cars and possessions.
This doctrine and its deeds are spoken of and condemned by our Lord in Revelation 2:6 and 2:15. The history of this goes way back into the Old Covenant, but we get a powerful idea of what it’s all about just in the name.
“Nikao” = to conquer and “laos” = people. This evil doctrine and practice is all about domination of the people. The Revelation account looks forward to and identifies the establishment of the hierarchical system of Rome in which the clergy are separated above the laity.
The separation of the clergy above the laity is done for the prime reason of controlling the people and keeping them subject to and under the clergy.
This separation is done visually in dress, mannerisms and ways of talking, and in titles. This evil infiltrated into most of the church. It is an evil which is alive and well today. (On a personal level I can’t tell you how many “Nicolaitan” ministers I have engaged in times past. I resent their teaching and reject it and tell them so if given the chance.)
The ministry of the watchman identifies this evil spirit of control and comes against it.
The Jezebel spirit:
See also the most hated edition in this website, edition 67, Jezebel in the church.
Jezebel was an evil, wicked controller. Her aim was to dominate through her prophecies, and her main thing was and is to bring down male leadership, by enticing them into evil. It was God’s powerful prophet Elijah who confronted Jezebel, but he ran away rather than “collide” with her. Eventually he came to his senses and his words and actions led to her being thrown out of a window to her death and her body savaged by dogs.
In the messages to the seven Churches in the Revelation both Jezebel and the Nicolaitans are condemned. Both operate through manipulation, intimidation and domination to produce control!
►You must know that Satan wants us to do his will and his method is control. God want us to do His will with our free will. The difference is as wide as the gulf between heaven and hell!
What comes into the true watchman’s head will be filtered through the Biblical truth in his head before being released. The false watchman will simply spit out whatever is in his dumb mind?
How to spot the manipulator:
The ministry of the watchman / prophet is especially susceptible to being misused.
The problem is not just identifying manipulation, but the bigger problem of what or who is behind it. You can be very sure that God does not operate that way.
The issue is that the watchman is to spot and identify manipulators. Unfortunately many so-called watchmen themselves use manipulation all the time.
Many ministers and ministries use subtle forms of manipulation and most people can’t even detect it.
Here are some of the methods of manipulation used by YouTube “watchmen” and others. They always use key-catch-phrases like: “Are you serious”,” Here is absolute proof,” “You have to see this,” “This will change your life – must see now,” “Red Alert” “If you do only one thing, read this”.
Then we have the shouters. I’m not suggesting a monotone emotionless presentation, but in many cases shouting is pure manipulation.
Beware of those who say that the Lord speaks to them with an audible voice. That is a sure mark of a fraudulent manipulator.
The authority behind the manipulator is false and fraudulent. It is the authority of the devil.
The reason why so many ministries, especially on the internet, use these forms of manipulation is to get members, readers or viewers. Another reason is that what they have can’t stand on its own! The manipulator always has ulterior motives. These may include popularity, hits to websites, followers, money and the like.
There is nothing wrong with measuring your ministry, that’s not what I’m talking about; it’s the manipulation that’s the problem.
I’ve said this a hundred times, but here it comes again. When you encounter progressive manipulation, intimidation and domination to produce control, you have encountered the working of Satan.
The modern watchmen using manipulation are to be avoided. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Dear reader, please understand that where ulterior motives exist a false spirit is at work. Leave these people, unsubscribe from their ministry.
Many people (including myself) will never bother with what a manipulator has to say again – simply because they can’t be trusted.
Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are some wonderful true watchmen on the internet and on YouTube, whom God is using.
God’s watchmen will “see eye to eye” as the coming of the Lord nears, and there will be many on various internet ministries who will be family. Not only will there be a family identity, but a seeking, sharing and supporting of one another as well. This doesn’t mean that all the watchmen will agree on every little detail, but those with all the main pieces of the puzzle in place will have a deep spiritual unity.
They have their reward
Manipulation to produce control will get you an audience of the gullible. It will get you money, fame and fortune. It will get you a big house, a big car and a big jet. BUT you have your reward. Enjoy it you fool, for it is all you will have and it will only be for this brief moment in time.
Matthew 6:1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men to be seen of them, otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
This passage goes on to say the same thing about prayer, and fasting. In the same reward context the passage then says, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy...but lay up treasures in heaven.”
When you put all of this together, ministers /ministries/ watchmen who like to be seen, who like to be heard and like to have money, people following them and hits to their website rolling in – have their reward now. What Matthew is talking about is that your ministry results when done with any of these motivations are your reward. That’s it! Nothing more is coming – in the next life.
TBN prosperity preacher using endless manipulation, you have giant homes, cars and jets – be happy that’s your reward. All your fancy clothes, mascara and Barbie hairdo’s is your reward. That’s it.
Matthew 5:11-12 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets before you.”
The ministry of the watchman / prophet in these days:
We are in critical and exciting times. We are in the last of the end-days. Bible prophecy is being fulfilled and starting to fall into place at a rapid rate now. These are the times the prophets of old looked to, wishing that they could be participants. These are the beginnings of “labour pains”, the start of the “days of Noah” and forerunner times of the tribulation.
These are the days just before the great prophesied wars of the end times. These are the beginning of the days that will see huge numbers of people killed and huge numbers filling hell. These are the days of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
These are the days of the Laodicean, lukewarm church being vomited out and the days of the Philadelphian Church growing in God’s glory.
These are just some of the central issues for the watchman / prophet to be involved with.
The watchman must know exactly how current events fit in (or don’t) with Bible prophecy. The watchman must obviously also know the voice of the Spirit of God as He interprets events.
Daniel 12:10 “Many shall be purified, made white and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly, and the wicked shall not understand, but the wise will understand.”
Isaiah 21:11 “Watchman what of the night...” The watchman sees the “night” coming! But people in modern churches don’t like that. The coming night is not the sort of message ministers preach, because it might scare their worldly flock and then they won’t give money.
The watchman’s greatest enemy in these days is the complacent, the average, the normal, the conformist – the masses!
The message of the watchman to the modern church:
Jeremiah 6:16 “Stand in the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Also I set watchmen over you saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet’! But they said we will not listen.”
The modern church has few prophets / watchmen. Those that it does have are generally false prophets. You may think I’m talking rubbish, but here’s the sorry story.
Today the modern church is mostly an institutionalised organisation. It follows the same management principles as the world. It needs “clients” just like any business. Of course you can’t upset your clients. The clients are largely the average conservative, conformist public, with a few verses thrown into their lives, and a Santa- Jesus as their sponsor.
Instead of wearing a dark suit, the manager wears a dress with a fancy collar around his neck and all sorts of other rubbish printed and emblazoned on his dress to make him stand out and give him “authority” in the eyes of his clients.
The manager manages what the clients want and gives them what they want to hear.
Jeremiah 5:31 “The prophets prophecy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so.”
They preach and teach peace now in this world and spit out one nice motivational message after another and “the people love to have it so.”
Jeremiah 6:14 “They (false prophets) have healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying ‘Peace, peace, when there is no peace.”
Today the modern church is blind to God’s word of warning. They are blind to eschatology. They are blind and deaf to God’s watchmen. The are blind to the coming sword of severity. In fact they are master scoffers, scoffing at the watchman, saying “all things will continue as always.”
To be accurate, 26.8% of the entire Bible contains prophecy! That’s a huge chunk to get rid of and deny! Yet today most of the church does exactly that!
If the modern church were to listen to the watchmen, that would spoil their whole day. Their entire life is geared towards “all things continuing as always” and their churches reinforce that with selective preaching and teaching. They have to remove nearly one third of the Bible from their worldview, because that’s how much of the Bible relates to prophecy.
Isaiah 66:4 “So will I choose their delusions, and bring their fears upon them; because when I called, no one answered, when I spoke they did not hear; but only did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight.”
Judges 10:13-14 “You have forsaken Me and served other gods, Therefore I will deliver you no more. Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress.”
The majority of the modern church has compared themselves among themselves and created a spineless, weak, lukewarm institution, divided against itself. The flock is blind and susceptible to being led into the arms of Satan.
There is an incredible urgency in the air. Some can see it and feel it, but the majority know nothing about it at all. They are carrying on as if “all things will continue”. They look to their own sect or denomination and think – “Ah we’re okay, because we’re just like them.”
The watchman and the rapture:
In Old Covenant times a marriage was not like today. The bride, family, friends and guests would be at the brides home awaiting the groom. The watchmen would go up on the roof to watch for the coming of the groom. As soon as he was spotted, the cry would go out “The bridegroom comes.”
It’s important to know that the watchmen didn’t watch for years, or months. They knew the approximate time. This is the duty of the watchmen today. It is to watch for the coming of our Lord for His bride, the church. We may not know the exact time, but we will know the approximate time, so that we can be ready.
Be aware that the Feast of Trumpets is a two day occasion. I’ll leave it to you to figure that out.
Ignore the true watchman / prophet at your terrible peril:
Proverbs 1:24-26 “Because I have called and you have refused, I have stretched out My hand and no one regarded, because you have disdained all My counsel , and would have none of My reproof . I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes.”
Jeremiah 14:10-11 “They have loved to wander and have not restrained their feet, therefore the Lord does not accept them...Do not pray for this people, for their good.”
Isaiah 59:2 “Your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”
If your heart is right and you desire the truth – you will be led into all truth. But be prepared to reject and eject that which you thought was truth, but was in fact the slanted opinions of your church hierarchy. If your heart is not right God is not obliged to lead you into truth.
What you must do:
●Get ready now! Not tomorrow – now. (The next edition will be a sort-of follow on from this entitled “What it means to get ready”.)
John 12:35-36 “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. He who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light...”
John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
Job 38:15 “From the wicked their light is withheld...” Flee wickedness!
This is a review of the main points identifying God’s watchmen as revealed in the verses in this edition:
●They know and receive all of God’s word. ●God reveals His secrets to them. ●They are to “pull down, destroy and then build up.” ●They see and come against wickedness. ●They are attacked with the tongue. ●They cause and bring repentance. ●They see, know and speak God’s word for Israel. ●They are few in number. ●They are full of knowledge of current events. ●They see and attack evil spirits in the church. ●They see the false prophets.
Please read the above paragraph again and then ask yourself, “Is this evident in my church”? If you are a pastor or minister, ask yourself, “Do I have this in my church”? If not, I would hate to be in your shoes soon!
The watchman / prophet feels the heartbeat of the living God and shines His light on the path ahead. The ministry of the watchman becomes more and more vital as time marches on to prophetic fulfilment.
Isaiah 52:8 “Your watchmen lift up their voices, with their voices they shall sing together; for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord brings back Zion.”
Jeremiah 33:3 (Amp) “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know or recognise, or have knowledge of nor understand.”
This is the recently discovered “Noah stone” revealing details of the flood.
2 Peter 1:19 “We have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.”
Ecclesiastes 8:5 “A wise man’s heart discerns both time and judgement.”
1 Corinthians 14:8 “If a trumpet makes an uncertain sound, how can you prepare for battle?”
This one of my own art works – my old style. It’s a fish eagle taking off. The representation is that the watchmen must cause us to fly above this world!
Isaiah 40:30 “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Shalom and grow in grace!
