|This ministry has a distinct kingdom, Messianic vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people and the church. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My calling is to share these great end-time dramas, to stand as a watchman and above all, to glorify my God.|

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
Edition 191. January 19th 2014
False ministers, teachers, doctrines and prophets:
False ministers, teachers, doctrines and prophets:
In this edition I would like to deal with how to identify false ministries in all their forms. This is a very fast-growing problem in these days. We need to know how to identify what is of God and what is not and what to do about it.
Whenever God is on the move in a new or special way, you can be sure that Satan will be there to distract, counterfeit and bring in pure error.
2 Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Messiah, and no wonder for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”
Be aware that our Lord warned the disciples five times in His end-time discourse on deception! In fact the very first sign He lists is “Take heed that no one deceives you.” (Mathew 24:4)
There have always been false apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists. But the Bible speaks in numerous places about them intensifying immensely in their evil work in the last days.
False ministries produce false hope, clouded vision and a wrong course for your life. Ultimately, if not checked, false doctrine, error and deception will land you in hell. It’s never a static thing. It always grows.
Today there are thousands of churches worldwide falling away from the truth. There are just as many pastors and leaders, themselves falling away. We are seeing the splintering of the church into ever growing divisions.
The foundation of your faith is all-important. Your determination to move forward with our Lord, paying the price, is all-important. Today many shallow shepherds full of self-will, trying to be people-pleasers, are leading the flock astray.
Post- modern Christianity rejects absolute truth. Truth becomes what you want it to be, or think it is.
“The Bible doesn’t mean what it says”, is the chant of many modern churches. “It means what we say it means!” Truth is what seems right to “me, myself, and I.”
Try and bring correction to many in deep error, and they turn on you like a viper!
Galatians 4:16 “Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth.”
Amos 5:10 “They hate the one who rebukes in the gate, and they abhor the one who speaks uprightly.”
Today many say that we should not judge. That is wrong. We must judge between right and wrong and sometimes even individual people. The opposite of not judging between truth and error is passivity, which opens the door to the devil.
Where the Bible says, “judge not” it is referring to one who continuously judges and nit- picks from a pride point of view.
Our Lord said, “I judge and My judgement is righteous because I seek not my own will.” (John 5:30) That is the key. If we are judging out of self-will, to put others down and elevate ourselves that is wrong.
2 Timothy 4:14-15 -reveals some shocking facts about the need to judge some people!
2 John 10 -is also insightful in regard to judging.
Please see Edition 14 for more. It is entitled “To judge or not to judge.”
Error at work:
John 5:43-44 “I have come in My Father’s name and you do not receive Me; If another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honour from one another, and do not seek the honour that comes from the only God?"
Today many church people compare themselves among themselves and with the standards of the world so that they can be relevant! (2 Corinthians 10:12).
All error comes from a false god and always leads to that false god!
The central cause and purpose of all error is to hinder, obstruct and prevent the work of God from being fulfilled.
The evolution of all false ministries began when the early church fathers started to re-characterise the church. Most people have no idea how far off track the church has gone since then. Let me add, that in spite of this, the church is still His body, and the Spirit of God has and will use it to some degree.
Many ministries say that they are bringing you the truth, when in fact they are bringing you other people’s ideas and interpretations, coming from the un-crucified self. The “truth” that many bring you is nothing but hand- me- down man-made doctrine. You can see it and hear it in their undertones of manipulation.
A simple law is this: Where the Spirit of God is at work in the body of Messiah there will be unity and there will be holiness. Where the spirit of error is at work there will be division and sin.
Ezekiel 22:26 “Her priests have violated My law, and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and the unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the clean and the unclean and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.”
Satan is about to introduce his ace- trump of deception to the world. This will be his system working in and through his false prophet and false messiah. The Bible says that all the nations of the world will willingly give their authority over to him.
The great false messiah is coming soon. He will be a powerful super-wise smooth-talking orator. He will have supernatural power. He will be physically attractive. He will understand dark satanic words and ways. He will be a peacemaker. He may be a homosexual. He will be a lover of all and will create unity in the world, in its monetary system and in its religions. He will be the devil incarnate. (Derived from numerous accounts of the antichrist in the Bible.)
The methods of error:
The manipulative tools and traits of the great satanic god of Hollywood are deeply rooted in the psyche of most Christians. Dramatising fear is nothing but manipulation. Dramatising all the good of God is also manipulation in most cases.
The promise of prosperity and wealth sells well. (Of course there is a Biblical truth to prosperity, but not when it is used to manipulate people.)
Manipulating the people to keep them coming week after week for the financial gain of the ministry is a subtle common practise.
Micah 3:11 “Her heads judge for a bribe, her priests teach for pay, and her prophets divine for money, yet they lean on the Lord and say, Is not the Lord among us? No harm can come to us.”
In fact you can sell almost anything using the techniques of manipulation. Godly things, when so used, become ungodly.
“The Lord told me” is a common method of manipulation used by insecure and shallow Christians. “The Lord spoke to me with an audible voice” is perhaps the worst method of manipulation. It presumes self-importance and is used by those with a deep- seated underlying pride problem. They are all liars.
Ezekiel 22:28 “Her prophets plastered them (walls)with untempered (a poor mixture) mortar, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying,'Thus says the Lord God', when the Lord has not spoken.” If the wall has been plastered with a poor mixture, that veneer will simply come off when the storms hit it.
Of course our Saviour can and does speak to us in many and varied ways, but what I am coming against is the misuse of it especially in manipulative self-promotion, money- making, and egocentric self-exaltation.
When pride is involved, that person has heard nothing from God and is speaking the word of Satan, which will lead into error and deception.
Ezekiel 13:3 “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing.”
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 “The prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die. How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken? When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing that the Lord has not spoken...”
This verse above is not pretty is it? But do you know that this is one of dozens of parallel verses all with a similar message?
How many do you know who have spoken saying that the Lord has told me this or that; and nothing comes to pass?
The power of deception:
This is not like going to school and getting something wrong on your test. Spiritually charged error has a powerful force behind it, not to be messed with.
Matthew 24:24 “For false prophets and false christs will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive even the elect if possible.”
Jeremiah 5:30-31 “A horrible and astonishing thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophecy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; AND MY PEOPLE LOVE TO HAVE IT SO.”
In the above two verses we see illegitimate power at work. The former is the direct power of Satan and the latter is the power of self. In both cases the people are deceived and brought down.
Don’t mess with these things, there are powers at work, which will bring you down if you are not discerning.
2 Peter 2:1-2 “But there were false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction, and many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.”
People love to hear what they want to hear, and what they want to hear has been created by the mass media and the masses of divided, Spirit-less churches. What the people want to hear has been created by the selective use of scripture, ignoring the full gospel. In most cases what the people want to hear is not what God wants the people to hear!
The gradual removal of the Bible from society has not left a vacuum. The gap has been filled with ever-increasing evil, which becomes the norm...and then “the people love to have it so!”
●Perhaps one of the most important safeguards against deception is unity. Note that in the verse below the unity being spoken of is between “brethren”. This doesn’t necessarily mean that all churches will come into unity, although if they were, to, we would have a different world picture altogether.
1Corinthians 1:10 “Now I plead with you brethren, by the name of our Lord, Yeshua, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgement.”
This unity must not be a manufactured unity, based on the doctrines of men. Modern denominationalism is a perfect example of that evil principle at work, which has created division rather than unity. In fact the word “denomination” means division!
●Today the “fear of the Lord” is almost entirely absent in the modern church thanks to the preachers and teachers of the day. Do you know why? It is because it not popular with the masses and the “people love to have it so”, therefore the preacher gives the people what they want to hear and not what God wants!
●The preaching of the law sets the standards of holiness and identifies sin. The law is the schoolmaster to lead us to the Messiah. When last did you hear a minister of the gospel get up and denounce the massive abomination of sin in the world? When last did you hear the preaching of the law in a church?
I’m not suggesting coming under the law, but the correct usage of the law to identify and condemn sin, to show what holiness is, and to point to the answer.
This is just why most modern churches are spineless me-now, institutions of division, with no fear of the Lord, and no holiness. Their converts are a pushover for the devil and will fill the great end-time false church, destined for hell.
A Church cleansed of all the evil practises of Babylon and other false gods will be used of God in these days.
Isaiah 43:12 “There was no foreign god among you; therefore you are My witnesses says the Lord.”
How to identify false ministries:
●Excessive, repeated shouting and over-enthusiasm are signs of manipulation and the flesh at work. This may not mean all of these are false ministers, but it must alert you to a dangerous ingredient. (A minister shouting at the right appropriate time may be fine.)
●The Nicolaitan spirit in ministers is always a warning sign. The book of Revelation speaks of this hated spirit. (Revelation 2:15). The word itself means to “conquer the people”. It refers to the elevation and separation of the clergy above the laity in dress, mannerisms etc.
●Ministries that never speak of God’s judgement and severity are in the flesh. They never teach or speak of the cross. Beware of open-minded ministries that entertain the ways of the modern media, flashy entertainment, neutrality on sin and the like.
●Beware of the novice in the ministry. They are unskilled in the scriptures, susceptible to pride and many false motivations.
●Beware of ministries whose doctrine is not centred on the New Testament epistles, which is the main teaching for the Church era. (2 Peter1:12)
●Beware of ministries that do not use the preaching of the law as the schoolmaster to lead us to Messiah. The law correctly used identifies what sin and holiness are.
●All ministries into replacement theology are to be avoided. (Every one of them.)
●Today we have an incredible, huge, dichotomy before us. On the one hand, the leaders of the church are avoiding and even coming against Biblical eschatology. On the other hand many are hearing God’s voice and simultaneously warning and preaching of soon-coming judgment upon the world. Guess which ones are right. Avoid ministries that do not teach and preach on eschatology.
●Ministries that continually talk about peace and safety in these days are talking from themselves and not God. In this particular time, the majority of the church will go unprepared into the coming dangerous days of destruction.
Jeremiah 6:14 “They have healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying peace, peace when there is no peace.”
The false teachers and prophets of the modern social media:
With the advent of social media in which I include Youtube, Facebook and the like, irresponsibility with no accountability has flourished. These places have become a cesspool and breeding ground for all manner of evil, outrageous error and deception. Yes - A breeding ground for wolves and wolf-criers!
The problem with the wolf-criers, apart from deception, is that they forever discredit themselves. I know many who I will never receive one word from again because they are wolf- criers. Oh yes, and of course, wolf- criers really do speak from the wolf inside of them!
Nobody minds a person making an innocent mistake or two. The point is that so many of the wolf-criers are always the same people and always the gullible ones.
But, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, because the internet has also streamlined and facilitated the work of God in so many wonderful ways. False prophets and true prophets ride these airways side by side. What is needed is discernment!
Satan uses his false prophets and teachers to spread his deception far and wide. He always uses the same gullible people to reach other gullible people!
Gullibility is the tendency to be duped, deceived and defrauded - repeatedly. Gullibility is often linked to deep ignorance. But there is a character trait of susceptibility, which leads these people. They are mostly unaware that they are perpetual victims.
After being confronted on their deception, they are too weak in character to admit it. So they then have to use manipulation, intimidation and domination to keep themselves elevated above others. They claim authority and insult any who won’t be drawn into their web of deceit.
It’s always the same ones who promote and fall for the frauds. The gullible in nature are simply drawn to it. It’s like an invisible magnet drawing them into the false, the frauds and all error. They think they are right and everyone else is wrong. They think they are in the truth while they are actually in so much pride, which is why they are blind to truth.
Unfortunately, these spiritually gullible people very seldom come right. Their pride keeps them in blindness and they bounce from one deception to the next, drawn by invisible demon forces, which they think are the Spirit of God.
Defending their idols of deception and error actually means that they, as believers, are defending the devil.
What causes gullibility? An analytical truth-thinker and seeker must automatically be sceptical about many things. You need to be, because truth and error travel the same highway. If Satan sees many holes in your armour, be very sure – he will get at you.
Self- importance working in those with a fear of rejection is normally behind gullibility.
The propensity for people to accept error at face value without critical Spirit–led discernment is enormous. It is the fertile soil for many other dangerous deceptions.
The gullible, especially in spiritual environments, are blind to the fact that they are pawns of the devil. They will blindly uphold monumental error turning it into an idol in their lives. Rather than destroying their idol, they try to spread the influence of their idols, coming against any who see their idols as towers for destruction.
Gullibility is normally linked with spiritually blind, deeply disturbed people with no discernment, who are not to be trusted at all. For this reason they are like a great big bull that is easily led around by the rope through its nose ring. If the bull pulls away, it’s too sore, so it just follows wherever it is led.
In these situations you need to take material on social media sites, and present it to the Supreme Judge and King of Holiness in your heart; be sensitive to His word. Spit out what He shows you is trash.
In case you think God respects everyone and their error, you had better read about Him vomiting out of His mouth all the lukewarm in the church! (Revelation 3:16).
Some examples of major false ministries:
It’s not my style to go around naming these, so I will refrain from it except for a handful of the most obvious and dangerous. This is for your benefit and not to put them down.
●The Catholic church as well as other orthodox churches are going further off track faster and faster. They were never on track to start with, but they are now almost ready to become part of the giant false prophet of the Bible.
The Catholic church believes that they are the one true church. They are in fact, the leaders of the false church with more blood on their hands than any other organisation on earth!
●Anglican leader, Welby has rewritten the century’s old Catholic and Anglican-adopted rite of infant sprinkling, which they mistakenly call baptism. The new wording removes “sin” and the “rejection of the devil” from the words to be recited by the participants. Of course they need to remove the entire practise of infant sprinkling, but what an incredible insight into their godless, worldly thinking!
●TBN has drifted far off course, with its leaders involved in massive fraudulent activity as evidenced in the legal actions on the go now. Its leaders are power and money hungry in the extreme, with a shocking, excessive, opulence obsession! They have removed ministers that come against Islam and removed almost all ministers who preach on end –time events. Ministries of self-promotion and self-motivation fit in well. Occasionally a gem is found, but they are becoming rarer.
●Joel Osteen promotes positivity, positive confession and self -motivation; He thinks Mormonism is okay and a host of sins. He never preaches on the cross, denial of self, end-times, judgement and the severity of God. Self- motivation must be his slogan.
●Billy Graham has done so much for the work of our Lord and evangelism. He has had Godly results. But much of his later ministry, especially in the last 30 years has been spent making the Catholic church acceptable to the true Church.
●Rick Warren, the leader of the “emergent church” is one of the most dangerous deceivers out there today, and so are the churches under his spell. He has spearheaded “Chrislam” which is the coming together of Muslims and Christians. He has addressed Muslim societies and favoured joint ventures with them as partners. He has removed the teaching of the cross.
●Harold Campling was an out- and- out false prophet. Amazingly many fell for his garbage. Even more amazingly, many gullible, deceived Christians gave large sums of money to this deceiver. This is one of his posters below:
Words of severe warning:
Some more important Bible verses on these subjects:
Ezekiel 33:3-6 “When he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the trumpet and does not take warning, his blood shall be upon his own head...But if the watchmen sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned and the sword comes and takes away that person in their iniquity; his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.”
2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers according to their own desires."
1 John 4:1 “Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 “In the last days perilous times will come...having a form of godliness but denying its power. From such people turn away.”
Galatians 1:6 “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Messiah to a different gospel."
Jeremiah 23:16-17 ”Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophecy to you. They make you worthless; they speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the Lord. They continually say to those who despise Me, the Lord has said, you shall have peace, and to all who walk according to their own imagination, no evil shall come upon you.”
Jeremiah 23:21 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. If they stood in My counsel, and caused My people to hear My words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and evil doings.”
What you must do:
The work of the Holy Spirit will always produce holiness in us, while the work of the any other spirit will not.
The gifts of the Spirit are always important, but in these days the revelatory gifts are of major importance. (1 Corinthians 12:1-11). Discernment of spirits is essential in these days.
The answer to error and deception is war! – Spiritual warfare!
Seek truth and you will find it, if you are prepared to pay the price.
Acts 17:11 “These received the word with readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were true.”
Revelation 2:24 “To you I say and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, and have not known the depths of Satan, as they call them, I will put on you no other burden.”
1 Corinthians 2:10 “God has revealed (the deep things of Himself) to us though His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, yes the deep things of God.”
Revelation 1:14 “His eyes were like a flame of fire.”
I took this picture in the sublime, magnificent Etosha Game Reserve – the biggest in the world. This is in an area called “The Ghost Wood,” so named after a rare tree species found only here. (Not this tree, which is a dead Camel-Thorn.) This represents death created by false ministries.
2 Samuel 23:4 “He shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, and clear shining after rain.”
Shalom and grow in grace!
