Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

Shabbat Shalom to all!
The tree-huggers delight:
The Bible uses plants, trees, colours, animals, birds, numbers and more to describe people and nations. It is the subliminal symbols that are of great significance and meaning, especially in relation to Israel.
Did you realise that the entire course of Israel’s history is plotted in the trees? There is much more to these symbols and metaphors - for another time.
Here are some amazing messages blowing in the wind, relating to Israel.
►The Olive tree: (Romans 11)
These trees have very deep, well established roots. They are sometimes called eternal trees, because they are so hardy; they live for many thousands of years. An ancient olive tree appears to die, but then miraculously, new shoots appear out of the dead wood continuing its existence.
The olive tree produces a rich olive oil which has numerous uses, but is also a type of the Holy Spirit. Olive oil is required to keep the temple menorah flames burning. This symbolises light. Olive tree leaves are symbols of peace. Remember the dove bringing back an olive branch to the ark after the flood of judgement.
The root of the olive tree is symbolic of God Himself. The root is called, “holy.”
Biblically, there are two olive trees of importance. The natural olive tree, is symbolic of Israel, and the wild olive tree, is symbolic of the church. The wild olive branch was “grafted” into the natural olive tree, thus partaking of the goodness of the root.
The national emblem of Israel includes two olive branches.
An ancient olive tree grove:
►The Fig tree:
The fig tree is symbolic of spiritual fruitfulness after severe pruning or judgement. It relates to Israel in the tribulation period, awakening to spiritual life.
The fig tree is unique in that its blossoms appear before the leaves. It should have fruit appearing before the leaves. This is why our Lord cursed the unfruitful fig tree, causing it to die. The root was not destroyed though, and a new tree full of fruit, is about to appear.
When the disciples asked out Lord what would be the sign of His coming, He listed a number of judgements to fall on the world. But one of these was the sign of the fig tree.
Matthew 24:32-34 “learn the parable of the fig tree: When is branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So also you when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the very doors. Assuredly, I say to you, ‘this generation (of Jews) will be no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.’”
Present day Zionism and the awakening of the Jews, as well as modern anti-Semitism are signs of the fig tree putting forth leaves and about to produce much spiritual fruit.
►The Almond tree:
The almond is the first tree to flower in its season, which at the end of winter. The flower has five petals to it, five being the number of grace. The temple menorah, a symbol of light, has oil cups or containers in the shape of almond flowers.
The Hebrew word for “almond” is “shakeid” which also means to “awake” and “watch”.
The almond is symbolic of Messiah’s resurrection. It speaks of the supernatural power of God as seen in Aaron’s almond branch that budded in one day. (Numbers 17:8)
Jeremiah 1:11-14 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ I said, ‘I see the branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said, ‘you have seen well for I am about to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, ‘what do you see? And I said, a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’”
The message here is that as the almond (Israel) flowers and buds she will be plunged into the tribulation period.
Jeremiah 31:28 “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy and to afflict them, so I will watch over them to build and plant says the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes...’”
Psalm 80:8-9 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt, You have cast out the nations and planted it. You prepared room for it, and caused it to take deep root and it filled the land.”
This vine, Israel, is described as “the choicest vine.” But it is a vine that also has within it a “winepress.” (Isaiah 5:1-2) The “winepress” speaks of the crushing tribulation to come!
God planted Israel as a “noble vine” of the highest quality, yet it became an alien, degenerate vine. This speaks of Israel's rebellion to Messiah. (Jeremiah 2:21)
As with the olive and the fig tree, the vine will bear its good fruit in its time, which is just around the corner!
►Other trees symbolic of Israel:
Joel 1:12 (Context: Israel is invaded in the tribulation period) “The vine has dried up and the fig tree has withered; and the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree. All the trees of the field have withered. Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
But we know that Israel's story does not end in the tribulation. Joy will return.
The Cedar: Symbol of power, royalty and majesty. The Oak: Symbol of strength and stability. The Palm: Symbol of military victory and victory in Messiah. The Pomegranate: Symbol of abundance and joyfulness. The Acacia: Symbol of beauty. The Myrtle: Symbol of God’s favour and blessing.
The grand summary:
Israel is: Deeply rooted in God with an eternal future. Israel contains the light-producing oil of the Spirit of God and soon will be Messiah’s light of the world! Israel will be at peace soon. The church is a “wild” family member of Israel through our joint root in God. Israel will become fully fruitful after pruning. Israel’s ripening fruit is a sign of Messiah’s coming. Israel will bud and come to life supernaturally in a day and then bring the light of salvation to the Gentile world. Israel will go through the winepress of tribulation, be attacked from the north and fall under calamity, because she was the choicest, noble vine and yet gave herself to paganism. (Baal) Finally Israel will fulfil God’s call and plan in power, majesty and strength, abundance, and blessing.
All of this is revealed in the nature of this forest of trees, and the corresponding Bible verses. How can you not be a tree-hugger!

Jordan and Egypt...the coming shock!
News events and commentary:
My comment begins with ***
●Abbas says “We will soon take all Jerusalem”
●Egypt’s Morsi says Jerusalem must become the capital of the “United Arab States! “
●Hamas leader says we will take all of Jerusalem and all of Israel. (I draw your attention to the very important Islamic maps in edition 140.)
●Israel’s new “settlement” building program of 3000 homes is being describes as a provocation by Palestinians and their puppets, the UN and the world. There is an Israeli strategy at work here. The 3000 homes will effectively cut off Jerusalem from the West Bank making the journey 10 times longer. The Israeli strategy is to keep a barrier between the two and emphasise Jerusalem will remain Israeli territory.
●During the Iraq war, when the media was making a huge thing about the fact that no chemical weapons were found, I recall seeing aerial and satellite images of trucks moving from Iraq into Syria for days on end. What was in those trucks? I have no idea, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were full of Sadam’s chemical weapons. Now chemical weapons are surfacing all over Syria!
●We’re in a time period now of fast escalating prophetic events. They will intensify dramatically. You can believe it or not, but it’s happening anyway!
Jordan...the coming shock!
It’s important to realise that in the Bible when verses speak of God bringing evil on a people it is not God pressing buttons for this or that to happen. He simply knows in His foreknowledge that it will happen.
I must say its a bit odd sitting here writing about something momentous that hasn’t happened yet! But we can be very sure that all of this is about to unfold.
You can reject Bible prophecy if you like. The amazing thing is that so much of it is already starting to occur. Believe prophecy or not- it changes nothing. It is happening and will continue to happen, just as predicted in the scriptures.
How much better to simply take God at His word!
This is perhaps one of the most shocking prophetic events besides the seven-year tribulation period. These events combined with the soon coming (new) events in Egypt, will rock the world.
First things first, we don’t know the exact time of these events. But we do know that they will take place very soon. The events may be concluded in the tribulation period, but it is highly likely that they will start up beforehand. In fact it is quite likely and probable that this will all be well underway within the next 12 to 18 months.
We must realise that Jordan today has an active peace treaty with Israel and is at peace with surrounding nations including the West.
Below is the signing of the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel.
Jordan in prophecy
The nation of Jordan in Biblical times was made up of three regions. These were Ammon, Moab and Edom. Ammon is now Amman, but it’s the same place. It’s important to realise that Jordan in prophecy can also relate to the Palestinian people in a broader sense. Esau in the Bible was the son of Isaac. He is related to the Ishmaelites and therefore also to the modern Jordanians and Palestinians.
We can further divide the original groups and regions. Ephraim and Samaria would be today’s West Bank, while Gilead is right next to the Jordan River.
Jordan is about to become a huge, shocking, unexpected battle field. It will see the armies of Syria invade the Plains of Bashan. (Near Galilee in the Gilead region) It will see many nations of the world being drawn into the conflict.
We are now in the Syria / Damascus phase of prophecy (Isaiah 17). Jordan and Egypt round two is next. Iran is the big monster that will cause WW111. It may blast onto the prophetic scene any day now, but is likely to follow Syria, Jordan and Egypt.
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) has given an ultimatum to King Abdullah of Jordan to transform the Hashemite Kingdom into a constitutional monarchy or face the wrath of “spring”. By the way, the King’s queen is a real babe!
The MB and the new face of militant Islam will be the common denominator behind many of the current and new Middle East upheavals.
Here are some amazing and tragic verses of prophecy, yet to be fulfilled, relating to Jordan and including the Palestinian people. Remember that Edom, Ammon, Moab and Gilead are present day Jordan:
Ezekiel 25:6-7 (Proclamation against Ammon.)“Because you applauded, stamped your feet and rejoiced in heart with all your disdain for the land of Israel, indeed therefore I will stretch out My hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off, destroy you and cause you to perish...and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
Isaiah 34:6-7 “My sword shall be bathed in heaven; it shall come down on Edom and on the people of My curse for judgement. The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, with a great slaughter in the land of Edom; their lands will be soaked with blood.” (Shortened quote)
Jeremiah 25:15-27 “Thus says the Lord God of Israel to me: Take this wine cup of fury from My hand and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it. They will drink it and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them...Pharaoh king of Egypt, all the mixed multitude of the land of UZ, all the Philistines of Gaza, Edom, Moab, Ammon, all the kings of Tyre, Arabia and mixed multitude who dwell in the desert....drink and be drunk!”
The “sword” is undoubtedly Islam
Psalm 125:3 “The sceptre of wickedness will not remain on the land allotted to the righteous.”
The “sceptre” is undoubtedly Islam
Jeremiah 49:17 “Edom shall be an astonishment...as in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbouring cities."
Jeremiah 49:20-22 “...Surely He shall make Edom desolate. The earth shakes at the noise of their fall; at the cry its noise is heard at the Red Sea. Behold he shall come up and fly like an eagle." (This last section could refer to air warfare).
Obadiah 1-18 (The whole book deals with “Coming judgement on Jordan.”) “Behold I will make you (Edom /Jordan) small among the nations; you shall be greatly despised. The pride of your heart has deceived you.” Verse 7 “All the men in your confederacy shall force you to the border; the men at peace with you shall deceive you and prevail against you. “ Verse 10-11 “For your violence against your brother Jacob (Israel) shame shall cover you and you shall be cut off forever. In the day strangers carried captive his forces, when foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem – even you were one of them.” Verse 12 “You should have not rejoiced over the children of Judah (Israel) in the day of their destruction, nor should you have spoken proudly in their day of distress. You should not have entered the gate of My people in the day of their calamity...nor should you have laid hands on their substance...Your reprisal shall return on your head.” Verse17-18 “On mount Zion there shall be deliverance and the house of Jacob (Israel) will possess their possessions. The house of Jacob shall be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame; but the house of Esau shall be stubble and no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau.” (This last section refers to a much wider conflict involving many western nations.)
2 Chronicles 20:2 (To Ammon and Moab) “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria...”
All of these prophecies above relate to great destruction on the peoples and lands that are modern day Jordan. As I said, these can quite accurately be extended to include the Palestinian people. The nature and character of the destruction is extreme to say the least!
Egypt in prophecy:
Bear in mind that in the Bible Egypt is often used as a type for the world system. Could the soon coming destruction of Egypt be a type of the soon coming end of the world system? In the next edition I’ll share some incredible things with you about numbers in scripture relating to these things.
There is a bit of a controversy on whether Egypt is the “King of the south” of WW111 as revealed in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Some believe Egypt will not be part of the Great War, because she will have been destroyed beforehand. These people cite Saudi Arabia as the “King of the South” who will join up with the “king of the North” to attack Israel.
Daniel 11: 40-45 “At the time of the end, the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships and he shall enter many countries and overwhelm them and pass through. He shall also enter the Glorious Land (Israel) and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand; Edom, Moab and the prominent people of Ammon. He shall stretch out his hand against the countries and the land of Egypt shall not escape. He shall have power over the treasuries and the gold and silver and all the precious things...but news from the east and the north shall trouble him, therefore he will go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many.”
The Aswan dam destruction:
The verses below speak of “Migdol and Syene.” In Bibles with commentaries, you’ll see that “Migdol” can also be translated “tower”, while the word Syene is Aswan in English. So the phrase is “the tower of Syene.”
There are very many commentaries identifying Syene as Aswan in English. There is no doubt at all on this. Aswan only became significant in 1967 with the Russian led building of one of the biggest dams in the world.
There was no “tower” until 1967. The huge hydroelectric power station on the dam wall, or even the dam itself may be this “tower” There is also a large towering monument next to the dam wall in the shape of a large lotus flower. Here it is:
Syene was a pool on the Nile River, which was then changed to Essuan. It was well know because of the pure water in the well. When the sun’s rays fell vertically onto the water at midday it shone and glistened. The area was also notable for its quarries of beautiful red granite called "syenite."
Isaiah 11:15 “The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the sea of Egypt; with his mighty wind He will shake His fist over the river, and strike it in the seven streams, and make men cross over dry-shod.”
Ezekiel 29:10 “Therefore I am against you and against your rivers and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate from Migdol (lit=tower) of Syene (English=Aswan) as far as the border of Ethiopia.”
The following verse has been troublesome for many. If we believe our Lord is coming soon, this verse implies that Egypt will only fully recover forty years after the destruction of the Aswan dam.
Ezekiel 29:11-13 “Neither foot of man shall pass through it nor foot of beast for forty years...her cities shall be desolate for forty years...At the end of the forty years I will bring the Egyptians from the lands where they were scattered.”
Ezekiel 30: 4-5 “The sword shall come upon Egypt and great anguish shall be upon Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt...Those who uphold Egypt shall fall and the pride of her power shall come down, from Migdol (lit=tower) of Syene (English=Aswan).”
The forty year period may have one of two meanings for us today. It is either historic and relates to an ancient event thus being fulfilled, or it could also simply imply that the results of the destruction of Aswan will be evident in the land for forty years, taking it well into the Millennium. This may be because our Lord allows this forty year testimony of how dumb it is to serve idols, mediums and satanic spirits.
Isaiah 19:1-8 “The Lord rides on a swift cloud and will come into Egypt. The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence and the heart of Egypt will melt. I will set Egyptian against Egyptian; everyone will fight against his brother and everyone against his neighbour, city against city, kingdom against kingdom...they will consult idols and charmers, mediums and sorcerers, and the Egyptians I will give into the hands of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them. The waters will fail from the sea and the river will be wasted and dried up. The river will turn foul...Everything sown by the river will wither and be driven away, the fishermen will mourn.” (The cruel master and fierce king could be the antichrist.)
The verse below comes right at the end of the all the preceding verses of destruction. It is a real miracle.
Isaiah 19:24-25 “In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria even a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the Lord of hosts shall bless saying: Blessed is Egypt My people and Assyria the work of My hands and Israel My inheritance.”
The Aswan dam has produced Lake Nasser which is 340 miles long. Interestingly almost the entire population of Egypt lives along the banks of the Nile River.
What will cause the destruction of the dam?
Some believe that due to the sheer size of the dam wall only a nuclear bomb will take it out. The Bible does not say how it will break, but break it most certainly will. A nuclear bomb is unlikely and not necessary. The dam may well be simply opened and allowed to empty, by some enemy force. Remember that a huge amount of the coming conflict in Egypt will be due to internal civil war.
It could even be a result of an earthquake or a conflict with Israel. The peace treaty with Israel will soon be worthless. (See previous edition)
It really doesn’t matter how it will be destroyed; we know for sure it will. This could be anytime between now and the tribulation period.
These prophecies are shocking indeed. They indicate that the Middle East is about to explode in a far worse way than we have seen with the current Arab Spring events. These events also pinpoint where the big troubles will be in the coming days.
These events are in the realm of the social/political/economic, but if these things are part of unfolding prophecy, we will also see a big escalation in the intensity of natural and environmental upheavals.
I took these pictures in the beautiful Namaqualand desert. For about one month the entire landscapes for many hundreds of kilometres spring to life with millions of wild flowers. This is an awe-inspiring place of natural abundance
Shalom and grow in grace!
