This website is distinctly Messianic, comprising the Abrahamic expression of faith, which is to the Jew and the Gentile. We affirm the fullness of truth contained in the Bible, embracing the cross and identifying with the convocations of the Lord. We reject the legalism of many in the Messianic movement. We reject the Babylonian Pagan traditions of the church. We consider all people Jews and Gentiles and those in all churches who are truly born of the Spirit of the living God to be one family. We proclaim a kingdom vision. We affirm and identify with God's plan and call to the Jewish people in these days and will support and stand with them as future brothers and sisters. Our slant is pre-trib! The Prophetic Scroll's aim is to glorify the living God.
I was saved in 1976 and became extremely interested in Bible prophecy, being an ex war-correspondent and photographer. My calling and aim is to share the dramatic, all-important issues of prophecy relating to our day. Please study these things further yourself. Please search the scriptures to “see if these be true.” The Prophetic Scroll stands as a watchman in these exciting and dangerous days.

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

The roots of the church
News events and commentary:
My comment begins with ***
►Attackers: This website has been the subject of an ongoing attack by a number of people. The reason for their hostility and anger towards me and this work is the same with all of them. It’s because I present Christ and salvation as exclusive. These individuals can’t tolerate the fact that I don’t believe what they do. One of these people, whom I’ve known for a long time, and walked with as a believer many years ago, has just committed suicide. I don’t know all the circumstances, but I could not help thinking of Judas.
●At the moment there is a great convergence of many things on the prophetic map. At the same time there is a growing convergence among prophecy teachers. The differences are minor and not issues for separation.
●Olmert (ex Jerusalem mayor) says dividing Jerusalem is the only way for peace. Netanyahu say Jerusalem will remain undivided. Netanyahu tells parliament: “We need to stop for one day and realise that we are witnessing the fulfilment of prophecy, the yearning of Zion.” He went on to say; “Dividing Jerusalem will bring war.” ***Funny thing is that’s just what God says too!”
●Israel revives the military option against Iran as Obama rejects Israel’s demands on Iran. (Debka file)
●Iran claims that the recent discovery of the Gospel of Barnabas proves that Islam is the final religion and will cause the worldwide collapse of Christianity. (WND) ***Obviously those inspired by Satan will welcome that, not realising that worldwide Islamic law will make their lives a misery! There’s nothing new in this anyway. Islam has always believed that it is the final religion!
●Muslim Brotherhood promises Sharia (Islamic law) for Egypt as the MB candidate prepares for run- off election. They’re expected to win. ***The reason this is very important is because this is Islam’s ultimate plan for Israel! (This of course, will never happen!)
●Europe is in the early stages of big changes. A banking crisis is imminent, which will spread to the banking system of the world. Shares in one of Spain’s biggest banks have just been suspended. This will all result in a new world credit crisis and recession. Europe will reform into a new beast. In the interim the euro is doomed (something I’ve said for years already)
The roots of the church
►Matthew 15:13 “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”
►Isaiah 61:3 “That they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord.”
These are sobering verses of scripture aren’t they? Don’t you think it’s a good idea to check what God has planted in your life?
The root is essentially responsible for the fruit. But there’s more to it. The tree must be planted in good soil, must be well watered and have the weeds pulled out. Then the fruit will be good.
Job 18:16 “His roots are dried out below, and his branch withers above.”
We can quite accurately say that the root is the all important starting point.
So, let’s look at the roots of the church, because only the completely blind would not have noticed that the church, by and large, is far from what it’s supposed to be.
Colossians 2:6-8 “As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith as you have been taught. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the traditions of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ.”
Jeremiah 6:16 “Stand in ways and see and ask for the ancient paths where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.”
Luke 8:18 “Take heed how you hear...”
Principles of growth:
Proverbs 12:12 “The root of the righteous yields fruit.”
Romans 11:16 “For if the firstfruit is holy, the rest is also holy and if the root is holy, so are the branches.”
Spiritual growth will not happen automatically. There are many principles that need to be applied and enemies that need to be dealt with.
Think of it like this: If you start laying a railway line and they’re not parallel at the start, they’ll be way, way out further down the line.
Truth is all important and will become a lot more important as we move into the days of final conflict.
A severed branch can’t produce fruit. It can try, but it will produce poisonous fruit because the source is not the living God.
It’s not how much you know, or who you’ve studied or what your church doctrine believes.
The root of truth is the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit inspired and led Word of God.
We need to receive our living Lord as Saviour, but have you accepted the Bible as the living word of your Saviour? Then of course we need to be baptised in the Spirit so that He can lead us into the fullness of truth and bring the word to life.
John 1:12 “As many as received Him, He gave them power to become the children of God.”
If we’re not connected to the root by the Holy Spirit, the fruit goes rotten quickly. You can slow down the corruption by putting it in the fridge, but you can’t reverse it. That’s just what many churches are like!
Please note that a tree has one root and not many different types.
Do you know what a radical is? It’s one who is a fanatic and who loves something or someone more than others! A radical is a complete non-conformist. He ignores the masses and centres on the object of his passion and love. Of course He conforms radically to God and His word.
There’s a very powerful principle in the Bible word “root”. It comes from the root word “radix” from which we also get the word “radical”. This simply means that to be a radical believer, we need to get to the very root of things!
Our Lord and Saviour was the true original radical. He was a provocative, controversial revolutionary and a terror to the man-made religious traditions of His day.
By the way, our Lord kept the traditions ordained of the Father and rebelled against the extra man-made additions to it. He also completely rejected the evil, satanic traditions of false religion.
So, if the radical is the well rooted one, what is the opposite? The opposite would be one who has no deep root. He is superficial, just like a weed! He would be one who conforms to the variable values of the world. He would be the supporter of the multi-faith movement and the enemy of the cross of Christ.
The radical is one who goes deep with the things of God, while the shallow one is either a counterfeit or is in imminent danger.
Because his roots are shallow, he will be swayed by everything and everyone. He will not stand in the face of storms or pressure.
Proverbs 12:3 “The root of the righteous cannot be moved.”
►Radicals beget radicals. Shallow Christians produce the same. Rotten fruit begets rotten fruit. The tragedy of our day is that many churches prevent the production of radicals and perpetuate the production of superficial, rotten fruit!
There is hope for the backslider:
Many times a person who has been produced by shallow shepherds has no deep roots and he backslides easily. It’s interesting that the hell fire and brimstone preaches of old produced believers that rarely backslid. Charles Finney was one of these radical preachers.
There’s always hope for the backslider, if the root was good in the first place! In fact the Bible says that “God loves the backslider.” How true that is for backsliding Israel as well?
Job 14:7-9 “For there is hope for a tree cut down, that it will sprout again; and that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth and its stump may die in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches.”
The above verse is truly wonderful isn’t it? This verse should be nailed to the door of the backslider. It is the love of God in action for those who’ve been discouraged and turned away from our Saviour!
If the root is right, according to the above verse, the person will endure even if he or she gets clobbered along the way!
The root of a tree as well as the tree itself is actually a piece of wood. The cross of our Messiah is the original glorious all powerful piece of wood that became the root of unimaginable glory to come.
The root is the cross
It’s important to note that the cross of our Lord was not His destination as many think. It was the principle of resurrection then the ascension and eternal victory.
The cross is the root of our salvation, but much more than that it’s the power of the cross on an ongoing basis that gives us the strength to take up our own cross, which works death, resurrection and victory into our lives.
This must also be true of the corporate body of Christ as well.
When we leave the cross aside we get filled with the spirit of the world, the flesh and the demonic. So it is for the church as a whole as well.
The cross kills all that’s not of God and powerfully brings t to life what is of God. Let me ask you this question. “Is Yeshua / Jesus divided against Himself?” The answer is obvious. So why is the church divided up against itself? You see, if the cross kills what is not of God in our lives, obviously it kills self opinion and division and divisiveness.
The Kingdom of God is absolutely united and in unity with God’s Spirit. How could it not be!
When the leadership of the church is not taking up its cross it will be filled with the divisions of pride and self opinion.
The Bible talks of people who become” enemies of the cross of Christ” They’re not enemies of Christ. So these would be professing Christians of some sort, but they’re enemies of the cross, which is the “power of God.” These people would be motivated, inspired and led by their own power, the power of the flesh! In fact they’re operating in the power of Satan.
The root of truth:
It’s very important to know exactly what truth is. The Bible itself lays this out in many places. The root of the doctrine of Christ is revealed for us in the book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 6:1-2 “Therefore leaving the discussion of the elementary doctrine of Christ let us go on to perfection, not laying again the ●foundation of repentance from dead works and of ●faith towards God, the ●doctrine of baptisms (plural) of ●laying on of hands, of the ●resurrection of the dead and of ●eternal judgement.”
The verses above lay the foundation or roots of the church. These doctrines are of major importance and must be part of the foundation of any church.
Note that these doctrines cover a very wide area and include faith, repentance, baptism in water as an adult and baptism in the Spirit. The laying on of hands relates to the gifts of the Spirit. The doctrine of resurrection relates to the end-time scenario and eternal judgment relates to hell and punishment and the end-time picture.
In fact the above doctrines cover almost everything in the Bible.
Are all of these doctrines part of your church teaching and experience?
Now have a look at these very unpopular verses:
1 John 10 “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your home nor greet him.”
Galatians 1:8 “But even if we or an angel preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached let him be accursed.”
Titus 1:9 “Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught that he might be able, by sound doctrine both to exhort and convict those who contradict.”
When last did you hear a sermon on the above three verses? Do you think they’re too strong? How dare you remove from God’s word what you deem objectionable!
The fact that so much has been removed from the church today; is the very reason it is so divided and messed up. This is not God’s plan for the church.
The root of truth is obviously our great God, but the root of truth in the form of the Bible is the author, the Holy Spirit. So if we want to know what truth is, we need to know God the Holy Spirit in fullness.
Peace and truth.
Deep inner peace is directly related to truth.
This is summarised succinctly in one of my favourite verses:
Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have they that love your word and nothing causes them to stumble.”
Speaking of wisdom, Proverbs 3:17-18 declares, “All her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her and happy are all those who retain her.”
Jeremiah speaks of the abundance of peace and truth.
In error you can’t have true deep enduring peace...never ever!
You know that feeling when you’re really trying to work something out and then suddenly you see it! You go; “ahhh, now I understand, now I see.” There’s a rest and peace in that isn’t there?
Trying to make error become truth is forever frustrating...it doesn’t fit! There will always be a little nagging inner voice disturbing you!
Attacks on truth
Luke 3:9 “The axe is laid at the root of the tree.”
Error must be removed from the very root. If the church was hard on error right from the start it would have saved itself a great many problems. Unfortunately, as the church lost “its first love” it started to love all sorts of garbage also.
Because first and foremost we’re in a spiritual environment, the Spirit of truth has always been attacked by the spirit of error. Satan has worked through many individuals to bring untold damage to truth and through that the mass murder of untold millions.
We must be careful because Satan is a deceiver and counterfeiter. Truth and error travel the same highway! Sometimes error is very appealing and looks just like the real thing, but with the author of truth in our hearts, He will spot the danger and warn us.
The tragedy is that many people who profess to be believers, have the mind of the church fathers as their foundation and inner guide, and their own minds as the umpire!
In other words, church doctrine as perceived by their leaders is sacrosanct. The Bible is subject to them instead of it being the other way around. Obviously this is why there’s so much division being perpetuated.
The attacks on truth started in the Garden of Eden. Right through history Satan has always tried to mess up the truth. This is how he brings people down into his evil kingdom.
The root of all sin and error was in the Garden of Eden. Satan said to Adam, “Has God said, you shall not eat...” This was the triumph of Satan. Question God and His authority! Can you see that nothing has changed?
“Has God said” is the root of all the is of Satan himself.
Do you know what the root of modern day replacement theology is? Do you know what the root of all false doctrine is? Do you know what the root is behind the advance of homosexuality? Yes it’s the consistent theme of the devil... “Has God said”
It’s important to understand that truth is essentially a Spirit. It’s part and parcel of the Spirit of the living God. As such it will always be under the attack of the satanic spirit of error.
1 John 4:6 “We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Our Lord Himself dealt very harshly with error (Many people don’t like to believe that) He forgave the woman caught in adultery, but severely condemned the religious elite standing around.
He told the religious elite of His day that they were poisonous vipers. “How will you escape the judgement of hell”, He said to them.
The only time our Lord was soft on those in religious error was when He perceived that they were open to the truth.
Let’s have a look at how the root of truth was attacked in the early church and what they did about it.
The so-called church father Augustine is hero worshipped by many in the Catholic as well as the Calvanist movements. He was a tool of the devil in many respects. Of the many great errors he introduced was the law or rule that the Bible must be interpreted with reference to church orthodoxy or the church belief systems. All prophecy was included in this.
He was one of the early propagators of the allegorical method of Bible interpretation. Origen was another. This system of interpretation involves the foisting of your own interpretation or opinion into the scriptures. It ignores and avoids the literal interpretation of the Bible. In other words you the human being then become the primary interpreter. You and your church doctrine become God’s editior!
2 Peter 1:20-21 “No prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
Let’s have a look at just a few of the many verses of scripture relating to how the early church leadership dealt with error coming its way.
Acts 13:9-11“Then Paul filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said; ”O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease from perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now indeed the hand of the Lord is upon you and you shall be blind not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him and he went around seeking someone to lead him.”
1Timothy 1:19-20 “Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme .”
2 Timothy 4:14 “Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.”
1 Corinthians 5:5 “Deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh; that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.”
The above verses are quite foreign in today’s “accept everything” church.
The early church was attacked by Satan with error right from its roots. Satan wasted no time, but neither did the leadership. These verses show just how serious they were in keeping error out. And God backed them up all the way!
The tragedy is that the church let down its guard after about three hundred years and Satan came flooding in with huge amounts of error and paganism.
●This website will always be hated and opposed by some, simply because it deals with issues and areas which some within the church have deemed objectionable. You won’t believe some of the stuff that gets hurled at me!
Have you ever wondered why the Bible says of the disciples that “they were counted worthy to suffer for His name”? Only the radical believer gets subjected to real opposition!
►If you want to be a radical disciple of our great radical Messiah, here are some wonderful verses for you:
Isaiah 51:7 “Listen to Me you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their reviling,”
Jeremiah 5:14 “Behold I will make My words fire in your mouth.”!!! (Ooo, I love that!)
2 Chronicles 15:7 “You, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.”!
Jeremiah 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but her leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.”
The coming uprooting:
Do you know what the third secret of Fatima is? Catholic Sister (not mine) Lucia and her buddies had three visions from God relating to the future, when they were young. These visions were documented and are now kept in the Vatican. The third has been kept secret, but leaked over time. The story developed that the third secret was the murder of the leader of the Catholic Church.
Ratzinger has since released the secret to clear up the confusion in the “leaks”. According to him the third secret is this: A great apostasy will befall the Catholic Church starting with the apostasy of its leader at the time. This man will lead the Catholic Church into great error. This is the third secret.
This does tie in with the prophecies of St. Malachi, which I won’t go into now; suffice to say that they presume that the final pope will be a Roman who will lead them astray. (See the video clip on the prophecies of St. Malachy in the “Videos” section.
The message to the church at Thyatira in the Revelation undoubtedly refers to the Catholic Church and other similar orthodox churches. It is horrifying assessment by God.
It ends with the church being cast into great tribulation. That’s what you call being uprooted!
The message to the church of Laodicea is also horrifying. They are told by our Lord that because they are lukewarm, they will be spewed (lit=vomited) out of Hs mouth. The nature of the original words used implies a permanent “spewing out.” In other words they will end in hell. That’s also what you call being uprooted!
So much of what still exists in the church today is rooted in Babylonian occult paganism introduced by the Catholic Church to change its character completely. This was done primarily to keep the Jews out of the church.
Many of the churches that come out of the reformation movement are rooted in the poisonous doctrines of Calvin and others.
Please see Edition 106 (that’s a hyperlink to take you there) for much more. (Take note of the section: “The anti-Semitism of the church fathers.”
This will all be uprooted by our God.
The root of the Messianic movement
The root is the truth! The root of the Messianic movement today is the early church up until about 300AD. This was the time when the early church had the Abrahamic expression of faith in their midst. This was the time when the church had a Hebraic character, being filled with Jews and Gentiles. This was the time period of incredible success and anointing, when Satan was unable to stamp out the church, even though he tried. This was the time period before Constantine, Augustine, and other so-called church fathers, which totally corrupted and changed the character of the church.
This was the time period before a host of evil Babylonian pagan practises were introduced by Jew-haters of the Catholic Church.
Please note and be aware that most of the so-called church fathers did not bring light to the world. They produced the dark ages.
Do you really want to be successful in your walk with our Lord? It may cost you plenty in this day, but if you do, you must have be well rooted in the pure undefiled truth.
By the way, I’m not suggesting that God has not used churches full of corrupted truth. He’s used them in spite of this, but they will not last when the pressure is really on! Have a look at that very first verse in this edition, before you argue with me!!
If you really want to, or feel led to move on forward with our great King, you must throw off much rubbish and garbage taught by and entrenched in much of the church. If you really want to be blessed, you need to be rooted in the Messianic, Abrahamic, Hebraic expression of faith.
Many want truth but say that the pressure to conform to the satanic traditions of Christmas, Easter and the like are just too strong to be avoided. So they go with truth and error! I ask you...how can you do that with a clear conscience before the Lord of truth?
Here’s an incredibly powerful verse of scripture for you today:
►2 Chronicles 15:3-4 “For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest and without law; but when in their trouble, they turned to the Lord God of Israel and sought Him, He was found by them.”
Will you be one of the “teaching priests” to assist Israel as the veil of her blindness is lifted and she recognises her Messiah? Will you be one of Israel’s friends when the world turns against her in a new, coming Holocaust?
Will you give your Jewish friends their truth, the truth of God when they come looking for it? Or will you give them Babylon-rooted error dressed as truth to lead them into another captivity?
Romans 11:29 “The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.”
How many times have you heard that verse being misapplied to a person’s calling?
This verse has nothing to do with an individual’s calling. If you read the surrounding context, you’ll see it’s talking of the calling on Israel as a gift to the world! Now isn’t that a true twist?
That’s a beautiful, wonderful and powerful verse of scripture isn’t it?
It’s saying that God’s call on Israel is irrevocable. It has not changed because of their rebellion. It will endure and come to pass. Israel will be saved and fulfil God’s plan. This is what God has planted. It will not be uprooted. It will come to pass and be completed.
You who are into replacement theology, this verse and the previous verses condemn you and make you a fool!
What is not planted by God will be uprooted. The axe is laid at the root of the tree. On the other hand, what is planted of God will flourish, and fulfil its calling.
You don’t need to do anything if you don’t want to. You can put up your sail and go with the winds of the world, but you will be uprooted. If you don’t get torn down in the coming storms, God Himself will tear you down at the appointed time!
You need to decide if you want to be part of what God is doing in this day. It is very exciting and is going to become a lot more so very soon.
More and more, I’m hearing of churches forsaking their ways of error and coming to an understanding of the pure truth. To me this is really exciting. In fact it’s as exciting as seeing people come to salvation in the first place.
You need to affirm truth and reject error. You must do both. You can’t have both, they’re mortal enemies!
My friends we’re in a very privileged situation and time. May I encourage you to seek truth, forsake error and turn your hearts softly, softly to our soon coming King of glory?
Isaiah 66:14-15 “The hand of the Lord shall be known to His servants and His indignation to His enemies. For behold the Lord will come with fire to render His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire.”
Isaiah 31:35-37 “Thus says the Lord, who gives sun for light by day and the moon and stars by night, who disturbs the sea and its waves roar, if those ordinances depart from Me says the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever. If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off the seed of Israel.”
Isaiah 33:6 “Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and the strength of your salvation.”
Here’s one of my own mixed media collage paintings. It’s a composite of various elements including bits of cloth, feathers and ethnic goodies. I’ve painted in the girl and the sections of the Baobab tree, which is an African symbol of age and strength.
Shalom and grow in grace!
